Now this is what you call a game of rugby and it's only the end of the first half.

France 3
Argentina 17

Sorry Dog_ger but I suspect this game is going to prove far, far more exciting than the final. None of the wrist-slashingly boring stuff that England usually produce. A half that lasted 44 minutes and finished with one from each side sin-binned seconds before the whistle. The handbags came out before the 2 minute mark and have been out ever since...one of the scrappiest games I've seen for a long time. We've had the lot...penalties, tries, conversions and attempts at drop goals (field goals)...cracking stuff :D Interesting stats considering the score...Territory France 59% Pumas 41%...Ball possession France 65% Pumas 35%. Game on :D

Final whistle and at last a team I was barracking for has won :D \:D/ =D>

France 10
Argentina 34

That has to be the best game I've seen for a long time...rugby the way it used to be and should be played...exhausting just watching it :D Hard and fast rugby...both sides fighting for every inch of ground...trying to score tries as if their lives depended on it rather than relying on a string of penalties. Argentina even managed to score a try in the 64th minute with only 14 men...another sin-binned. Took France until the 68th minute to score their first try. Tonight the 'big eight' became nine. =D> \:D/ Well done Argentina.

A very enjoyable game JAS.

I thought the French lost the plot a little at times.

Argentina was well coached, and those BIG boys knew their stuff.

As a SMH reader pointed out...

"It's like Manly versus Manly."

Or, to Aussie Rules-ize it...

"Collingwood versus Collingwood/Port versus Port/Adelaide versus Adelaide."

Wouldn't miss it

I hope it's as good as last nights game but I have my doubts...would be good to see an England team that wasn't afraid of getting their nice clean white kit dirty  I don't normally like the way that SA will goad teams into losing the plot and getting aggressive (something they are very very good at) but I think it would do England good...get them playing hard, fast rugby again.

Morning Dog_ger

Half time already

England 3
South Africa 9

Oh dear....penalty, penalty, penalty, penalty...come on guys it's rugby. At least SA did attempt to score a try and came bloody close too until England killed it with hands in the ruck and gave them a penalty instead. Sorry England fans but last nights game was so much more exciting with both sides continually going for the try line.

Final whistle on what was certainly an eventful second half.

England 6
South Africa 15

Commiserations Dog_ger my dear :goodman:

At the 41st minute a one-man pitch invasion is brought to an end when the guy is wrestled to the ground by security staff and carried from the pitch accompanied by a fair bit of booing. A minute later England score what looked to be a try, HOWEVER it was disallowed by the video ref...I think the British tabloid press will be gunning for Stuart Dickinson...hope he can get home to Australia in one piece  Later at around the 57th minute Percy Montgomery from SA flies off the field in spectacular fashion crashing into a very large TV camera and tripod...lucky not to have injured himself.

If nothing else the game provided a few moments for the 'what happened next' round on Question of Sport  Sadly it was a game of penalties...I still say last nights game was more worthy of the ticket price. Oh well there's always 2011

Congratulations SA

Couldn't agree more Dog_ger...it's been a great tournament.

2011 can't get here quickly enough...New Zealand...revenge of the time zones

Now I have to wait until February for the Six Nations...do you get to see that ???? I think there might be quite a few new faces on all the teams when it starts.
