Super 14's Round 1: Waratahs looking the goods!

Postby Snaggletooth Tiger » Sun Feb 04, 2007 3:06 pm

The Waratahs defeated The Lions in Johannesburg 34-25
A.C.T. Brumbies defeated The Chiefs 21-15 in Hamilton :D
& in a major upset The Reds beat The Hurricanes 26-16 in Brisbane
Sadly The Western Force went down to The Highlanders 8-7 in Perth

Good news for the Australian sides, but remember it'll be another 5 weeks until All-Black Internationals return to the competition & the Tahs will be hosting a revamped Crusaders outfit on March 31st in Sydney...
But in my mind New South Wales may very well be the Super 14's measuring stick come that time!

Original post changed due to false information gathered from an unreliable source!

Just wait until the finals.

There's only one Australian side that can handle the pressure.

The thing against the 'tahs is that they get to play all the NZ teams in the 2nd half of the season when the NZ teams will have their national players back.
I'd suspect a team or teams that get to play the NZ teams mainly in the first half of the draw will finish higer on the table.
I watched the Red game on Saturday, man was that boring, I thought Schiofske was OK in his first game after being a champ at Canberra in the NRL.
