Agree. Van Gisbergen looks to be a real talent... I hope that Ford can hold on to him...

I believe he has signed until the end of 2012 just recently.... A great move by SBR and Ford. Now just to find someone to replace Steve Richards....

Yep, he's been an utter disappointment... I wonder if Davison would come back to the Blue Oval?

Just on that point, there's really not any loyalty to a brand as there was in the Moffat/Brock/Johnson days is there?

(and I mean loyalty from driver to manufacturer and from manufacturer to driver).

I thought Moffat drove for Ford and Mazda? Didn't Brock drive Volvos and even put out a Brock Falcon at one stage?
Skaife didn't start out with Holden.
Things are no different.

Brock drove a Ford Sierra for a year or two. He did drive a Volvo too. Im almost certain Moffat had a stint in a Commodore, but i could be wrong.

I think what CC means is that the loyalty in the old days was extended. Eg Dickie Johnson started in a Holden but had 30 years in a Ford as did Skaife with his Nissan start... and Brocky had a one year stint in a Ford between his years as the number 1 Holden man. But now the guys are like yoyo's.... S.Richards, Ingall, Bright, etc. Its a year by year proposition these days but its also a cut-throat industry so taking a drive in any car offered would be the highest priority and brand loyalty the lowest...

I'm glad someone understood my point...

Johnson started in a Torana but will always be remembered as a Ford driver .

Brock was a bit of a tart in the Group A era but who could blame him, Commodores didn't have a chance.

Moffat was as Ford as you could get ( Cortinas, Mustang, Falcons, Sierras), but yes, he did team up with Brock for a few races and won a championship in an RX-7. He also drove a BMW 'Batmobile' in Europe and a Chevy Monza in the US.

I think Murph and Tander are the only Holden drivers who have been aroung a fair while and to only drive for Holden? Not to sure about Ford, Johnson is the obvious one, but thats only because his dad owns a team.

Spot on I reckon except J.Richards has always been in a red car too and you could probably count Frosty in the lot too seeing he has been in the blue car for 5 or so years now.

Another good weekend for DJR and James Courtney. Really added some spice to the championship now :)

Yep, I seem to remember one of the Holden or HSV bosses taunting pre-season that Ford would be lucky to get a race win given the departure of 888.

I thought young Tim Slade had a good weekend. A Mclaren Vale lad who played footy in the McLaren Juniors has had his best weekend of racing. Finished 12th on Sat and his best drive to get to 7th yesterday.
He was a very happy young man last night.

Spot on mate, that was one massive, and stupid statement on their behalf. The Championship is well and truly alive.

How good were those last few laps today at the Gold Coast 600 ? Sensational driving by both Whincup and Van Gisbergen, probably some of the best racing i have ever seen.

Anyone see the rumour that Courtney is considering a move to Holden next year on Sunrise this morning? I'd be devo if that happened, only a year after the 888 manufacturer change.

On the bright side I did also hear that Will Davison (I think!) is considering a move back to Ford.
