Have we lost the plot?

Have we lost the plot?

It seems to me that the numbers viewing and posting in the last couple of months have dropped significantly?
I went away in May and have come back this month and the same vitality has disappeared.
Have we culled too many?
Have we not been able to remain significant to the SA Football community?
I remember when we were mentioned in the bleaches/change rooms after a game.

There was buggar all posted during the Landmark Cup in June and last weekends State Country Championships which was tragic. There were a few comments on some threads but there should have been heaps of traffic on dedicated pages IMO

Argh, I can only get the stats to work till December last year, will see if Diss can find some old numbers for me.
June and July have been quieter than April and May but from memory that's always the case as a few supporters of clubs that go out of the hunt lose heart and go missing.
We've had almost 1 million "visits" since Dec 12 and almost 4 million hits if that means anything to anyone.

Hits and views aren't down.
Sometimes it appears that way because of contributors though

My impression is the number of high volume, regular posters is down on same time 12 or 24 months ago. If the hits and views aren't dropping it might suggest that people are less willing to post even though they continue to read as they did before.

That could be because topics aren't inspiring people to contribute as they did before or people are deliberately not wanting to engage in conversation which could be for many reasons.

Disagreed. For every one "regular" that drops off two or three replace them. This has been consistent. People don't see the same old names and form false impressions.
I'm amazed with how many unread topics are on this site after I've only been away a couple of hours.
Nicer to have more of a spread but you only have to look at the AFL reserves debate to realise the amount of regulars making a high volume of posts is at an all time high.
And while kickinit is on a holiday the quality is hugely improved on a couple of years ago.

Just did a quick count of posts made this month on the SANFL board (18 days) compared to the month of July last year (31 days).
2013 = 8386 posts avg 270 per day
2012 = 3263 posts avg 105 per day

I think I can safely say the SANFL part is going OK. :lol:

This.
Squids' diatribes were famous in the Spencer Gulf and frequently discussed during matches by players and supporters.
His controversial comments brought many to the site and promoted discussion in the local community in particular about cricket.
I think that the interest that some of the more colourful members brought from people in regional areas is at times overlooked when some members are banned.
