Arseholes lounge - Yes or No?

Postby A Mum » Wed Aug 31, 2011 12:51 pm

There is currently lots of debate for and against in regard to a hidden AH lounge.

I'm sure there are people out there who have an opinion whether it be for or against - but for whatever reason can't 'air' it.

Therefore I am genuinely interested in an outcome from this 'poll'.

The hidden forum in question:

The arseholes lounge:
"No Holds Barred Forum where people can troll, post pics of naked chicks, they can swear, they can abuse people, they can basically say what they like and there really isn't any rules as such" - which no doubt will include some hidden discussions on regular safooty.net members who cannot acces it.

So - the question is:

Who is happy to have this as part of safooty.net?
Yes.
No.
Don't care.
Undecided.

Not that it really matters what you or I think - but - yeah just interested is all.

Thank you O:)

I cant see the harm in this at all, we are all big enough to be able to have the choice of said lounge.

I really can't see the mods issue with not being able to see it or moderate it...

Is it really that big a deal and will it have that much effect on what people will post about a footy game??

So what's the big deal?

What is the main reason the mods seem to be up on arms over it?

Besides posting private messages?
I love 'Food and Stuff'. It's where I buy all of my food. And most of my stuff.

Isn't it the same ad sending someone a private message
Or do we have to start sending all private messages to everyone on site

So mods past and present are spreading half truths, rumours and false information... this sounds like more of am issue than a secret forum to be honest.

I can't understand the need to troll personally - on any forum. I like the fact this is different to Bigfooty.

Suppose that I don't have to go to the AH Lounge though do I?

Good luck working that out Diss.

mickey, some of us are coming up on 6 years (!) of voluntary service moderating this site to make it what it is, family friendly, suitable for all people, promotes discussion on all levels of footy etc etc, countless hours spent scrolling through things that dont, in many cases, interest us but for the need to keep things in here on a civil level we do this, for the good of the site. Countless hours.

mickey, I can't speak for others, but I resigned as a moderator because a member who for years has been banned several times, come back with other alias' several times, and continuously trolls and baits people in their response was allowed back onto safooty (specifically to be part of the arsehole lounge) without any consultation with the moderating team which had spent many hours of voluntary time trying to keep the site to a standard that Booney mentioned earlier.

Personally I couldn't care less about the hidden lounge, it's the principal of allowing people who have broken many rules over many years and been banned several times back onto the site to be a part of it.

Why bother spending your free time moderating when users can be re-instated without reason just to join the arsehole lounge?

perhaps if thats the case smithy, only the owners should be moderators, as its their site.

With the way the mods are being treated by admin at the minute, it might just end up that way.

Do mods get paid or is this site not for profit?

Have you seen the number of posts per day on this site?

There is no way 3 people could do the job to the current standard.
