SA Footy

With fantasy sports, dream teams and super coaches taking off at a rate of knots, would it be at all possible to perhaps have a heading under other sports thread in the other sports group (similar to the footy comps)... i know most fantasy threads are in the specific sports threads, but not every fantasy fan frequents the individual sports threads..

That was we can look in 1 spot with links to the main thread, similar to the way the soccer comps thread has links to all the individual soccer comps..

Just a thought

In theory that is it save time...but with it right there Im more include to join in more competitions...BUT I think is a great idea

There's a AFL Fantasy thread already up and running, but yep I agree to have one for ALL sports combined would be great.

That way I can post the SA Footy EPL ladder a bit more

Sorry, but I do not want to wade through a heap other sports to read the threads relevant to fantasy AFL. For that reason I would be hugely against combining that existing sub-forum with other sports.

I was more thinking u click on the fantasy sports heading on the index page and in there would be:

A thread that says 2011 hogg shield sign up, (or somthing similar), and when u open it up there would be a

viewtopic.php?f=43&t=31045

the next topic down could be the EPL fantasy thread with the link in there

etc etc...

more so the 1st initial announcement for a new season of fantasty sport linking to the thread in the relevant area...


For example, there is a SA Footy fantasy Aussie Open Tennis, and unless u go into the other sports/tennis thread u dont know it exists...

The AFL fantasy board has gone gang busters and in a short time has a lot of threads in it and could soon overtake the Crows Board in post count. So wherever the AFL fantasy board might go it has to stay as a board IMO.

You could have one designated board for all fantasy sports so long as within the board are sub-boards for the major sports. One of the sections could be announcements of the various SAFooty related fantasy comps.

Alternatively, keep a thread or a board within the existing sports threads for fantasy discussion. So the cricket board has a fantasy sub-board and the "other sports" board has a "other sports fantasy" board in it.

I can see merit in both. I like where the AFL fantasy board is because all the AFL related discussion is in one place and you just flick easily between the various AFL related boards.

I'd like to suggest all the fantasy sport, Dream Team, sport competitions, and betting and gambling threads be put into one section on the opening page where I could ignore them easily - as I do the entire Other Sports section.

They do tend to clutter up the discussion sections and it is a minor pain opening discussion threads to find that it was a waste of time as only that gaming and gambling stuff has been active since the last log in.
The IT games discussion could perhaps go there and leave the IT section to actual Information Technology discussion.
Perhaps the first division of threads could be into "Discussion" and "Gambling & Games".
