Is there a way to display the correct times without changing your timezone to +10:30?

Change your user settings in the control panel
Summer Time/DST is in effect to YES

The forum's time is correct, but you're negating the DLS change with that.

OK further to this.

Changing the DST bit works fine when online and shows the correct time...I have mine on the forums set to Adelaide time so I don't have to do so much mental arithmetic. Now that works fine when I'm logged into the forums but as soon as I log out the time jumps ahead by 2 hours

eg...right now I get "It is currently Mon Apr 04, 2011 5:29 pm" at top right of the page but if I log out of the forum that will change to 7:29 pm and all the posts will display 2 hours ahead until I log back in and they go back to the correct time.

Any idea if there's a way to make the time the same both on and off line ??? My money's on something uber-obvious ;)

JAS

When you're not logged in, it doesn't know who you are, so doesn't know what timezone you are in, so no.

If you have three guests on the site, one in Perth, one in Adelaide, and one in Melbourne - what time do you want to display?

I'd imagine that, as a site dedicated to South Australian football, we would prefer to have a Victorian time-zone.

Ah I see, understood. Always wondered why that was.

But why does it show the same 2 hour difference for everyone regardless of our location. Surely as it's an SA forum it should just default to the time in SA. Btw the Redlegs forum does the same but that is only a 1 hour difference.

Doesn't show a 2 hour or 1 hour difference to me, shows the exact time even if I log out and am only a guest.
If we couldn't set it and it was to default, it would default to its server time which is Eastern Standard Time.
