Do you open these threads at work Strawb?

Is this sort of stuff needed on this site (in moderation fine but pages and pages?) when the internet is a wonderful tool to be able to view anything you wish without having to come to safooty?

Yes I do open these threads at work. I am using that as an example of what has Happened. Dutchy I do understand where you are coming from with all this Moderating. But My works policy is No adult sites can be looked at or anything that seems to be violent, games and other material deemed not allowed. I feel it is at one should shelf moderate what they post here. A bikini picture or a picture of a women who's is wearing a tight top is ok with me. If the girls want to put pics of guys in tight pants and no shirts on who am I to complain. And I do agree with you page after page is unnecessary, but a picture every now and then I don't seem to have a problem with.
But that is my opinion why not go after the best Jokes thread any child can access that and go through and learn a few dirty jokes. That are deemed inappropriate. This is just my opinion which means not a great deal.

I can see you point, and Im comfortable with the posting of suitable pictures in moderation. We have to consider everyone and we dont want boards clogged up with the same thing which may stop people posting. We also dont want anyone to open a thread at work which may cause them issues with their employer.

Would love to hear the views of others.

Has anyone had problems with this site at work?
I've recently gone to the office (hence my post count has crept up as i post out of boredom sometimes  )
I have this open all day at work, and nothing has been said to me yet, but I do wonder what i'd say if they asked me?

Unfortunately as a tradie, I dont have the access as you lucky buggers sitting at your desks drinking coffee and browsing the internet (SAFooty) while glancing out your office window watching the world go by......

Personally, if you get caught by your boss looking at the "best sunrise presenter" thread....thats their call what consequence you face. I thought the thread was great and did not have a problem with it. Totallly over the top to get rid of it. Im sure if it was "best male sunrise presenter" it still would be up.

Just my opinion away ;)

Our work policy is "nothing that any other person may find offensive" pretty much you cant open anything, those pic's as innocent as they may appear to most could cost someone else their job.

I'm sure a lot of others with similar employment aren't even aware that it's that tough. I know I wasn't 'till it cost me $1300 for a lawyer to keep it down to a reprimand. Now I wont even look at a forum, facebook or similar at work.

If I were running a company only staff whose work actually required it would have any form of external Internet access, or email facility.
[And their use would be monitored.]

So he/she knows exactly how lazy you are

The issue raised by OP is easy fixed for Mods. Put a *NSFW* in the title of each thread that's deemed borderline.

I don't think the site is over-moderated, I liken it to Hitler's Nazi Germany.

If it was, you'd have found yourself in the ovens ages ago.
Very poor comparison.

Exactly what we have been discussing.

After much discussion between the Mods the thread has returned and moved to the Entertainment board with NSFW which we will use as a warning that you may wish to open when at home not work. By doing this we will still make sure our rules are strictly enforced.

NSFW = Not Suitable For Work

This issue shows folks that we're only too happy to listen to you guys if you think we're doing something wrong or could do something better, at the end of the day we want to make it the best possible site for as many people as possible.
Keep the feedback coming at any time. :)
