So where are they showing support of this room ?

It was my idea so I am willing to take the heat and answer thr questions about it.

Due to concerns of some we've just decided to move the Arseholes Lounge to its own site.
For the time being it will run as per normal and Ill continue to take PMs from those interested in the idea but it will eventually have its own site.

I was going to post that suggestion actually Wedgie. I wasn't sure what amount of work that would require for you but it seemed like possibly the only long term solution.

If it is outside SAFooty then it's no different to any other forum out there. It was running it in the confines of SAFooty with different rules that was where most of my issues were.

Can you get those mods back now?

I supported it as Wedgie as built this place from the start expecting 50 members in 2005, 6 years later we have 5000+. He has made a lot of correct calls during this journey to turn this place into one of the biggest footy websites in Australia that gets more hits than most AFL clubs sites get (yes we have this data). Due to this I was happy to back him in on this as it was a trial. As in any trial you take on feedback and adjust things to suit, while that has taken 3 weeks I think we are heading towards the right result for everyone.

The AL has been successful in getting some of the troll/silly posts off the main boards which did affect our main course of business - Footy talk. It has also upset some Mods/Members and I can see both sides to the arguement.

No offence to the Mods, as hard as their job would sometimes be, but without Wedgie (and Dutchy and Diss), there would be no forum for them to moderate.

And if the forum is hidden, then there is nothing you need to worry about moderating...

In principle you are correct MP, it shouldn't be a problem. If everyone used the AH Lounge like you then maybe it wouldn't be. However some posters have taken their new AH 'status' as a licence to terrorise certain mods they don't like on the main boards. You just have to look back over these discussion threads.

If they were getting paid then maybe there's a bit more leway there, but they are volunteers - they are in a sense 'donating' their time to this site, and what are they getting in return? Posters getting all up in their grill, brilliant.

Anyway, if it is to be moved to a completely different site then that will go some way to resolving the issue. Well done to the admins for monitoring the trial and responding to the issues that have arisen.

To be honest it's not even the A-holes that have given mods the hard time....IMO.

(Well I haven't had a problem with them anyway...yet )

However, I do have a feeling there is an alterior motive for the move away from the main board....and it wasn't to keep the mods happy.
