Not sure I'd call one player a raid. At least this one looks more like we didn't pay over he odds as we did for Lovren and Lallana.

Liverpool are targeting the wrong players. Need a proven striker, scoring was there issue last year.

Problem is we have more than 1 hole to plug. We have a leaky defence (6 at Stoke), a slow and un-creative midfield (losing Gerrard whilst past his best, still heightens that problem) and noone other than Sturridge up front and he's made of sugar.

So we've brought in a quality defender and mid, and we'll sign an experienced striker Im sure (to go with Ings and Origi who come in, but can't be relied on to carry the strikeforce). We've apparently bought several "wonderkids" this transfer period, but whether they ever amount to anything, and how long it would take, is anyones guess.

Last season was a seriously bad one for us.

Very happy with this. He and Vertonghen will start, with Dier and Fazio as back-ups in the centre of defence. Walker and Trippier cover right-back, Rose and Davies cover left-back. Defensive signings are done now, need to get some reinforcements up the other end.

Shay Given!?! We've brought in a dinosaur! Granted he went ok for Villa late on last term but still a 39YO veteran.

We've also signed Marco Van Ginkel on a 12mth loan from Chelsea, reports are that this was a sweetener in the Begovic deal which is yet to be announced.

Also Steven N'Zonzi has been sold to Sevilla for £7m. He'll be a loss for sure.

Ogbonna from Juve to West Ham

Pretty excited with this

Had huge wraps on him when he was at Torino, then went to juve and struggled to get minutes but was serviceable when he got a go

Now with Reid, Ogbonna, Collins, Tomkins and Burke our centre back position looks real strong

Not to mention Reece Oxford. Going to be the best of the lot by a long, long way.
Couldn't even tell he was only 16 playing in the first Europa ties. So good on the ball already and he's bloody massive!

Agree he will be the best by a long way

I doubt he will start a epl game for us though in his career, probably won't this year and won't be with us much longer than this season

Though over time I think he will become more of a centre mid in the Patrick Viera, Yaya Toure mould

Matteo Darmian, Torino to Manchester United £13.7m.
Absolutely stoked with this, one of the best defenders in Italy over the last few years

interesting to see for your sake how he copes with no real break over "winter" in the EPL. As he has been playing in leagues that have that break too freshen up
