Round Up

Substitute Neil Mellor grabbed a late equaliser to secure Sheffield Wednesday a 1-1 draw from their npower League One trip to Colchester.
The former Liverpool striker fired in powerfully from close range after the Us defence failed to clear the ball.
Earlier Andy Bond curled in a superb shot with the outside of his boot from 20 yards for his first career league goal.

Oldham made it two wins out of two thanks to the superb goals that completed a 3-0 rout of Notts County.
Strikes by Dean Furman, Ournare Tounkare and Kieran Lee boosted Paul Dickov's bright start in management and left County, last season's League Two champions, still looking for their first points of the season.

Brett Pitman hit a hat-trick in 16 second-half minutes as Bournemouth blitzed Peterborough 5-1.
They led 2-0 at half-time through Marc Pugh and Anton Robinson, who both scored in the opening 20 minutes.
Dozens of travelling Posh fans headed for the exits before Kelvin Langmead scrambled their side's consolation.

Walsall staged a smash-and-grab raid to clinch their first points of the season with a 2-1 win at Brentford.
Julian Gray volleyed home the winner from Darren Byfield's cross against the run of play after Brentford failed to clear their lines.
The visitors went ahead through Alex Nicholls but Gary Alexander levelled with a fine header.

Gordon Greer completed an unwanted double as Gary Jones pegged back Brighton to secure a 2-2 draw for Rochdale.
The defender was sent off on his last appearance for Swindon and saw red on his Brighton debut for tangling with Anthony Elding.
Jones scored the resulting penalty and added a late leveller after Brighton had edged in front through goals from Glenn Murray and Elliott Bennett.

Byron Anthony was Bristol Rovers' last-gasp hero as they clinched a 2-1 victory against Yeovil, who finished with 10 men.
The Glovers appeared to have salvaged a point when Adam Virgo cancelled out Jo Kuffour's opener in stoppage-time but Anthony still had time to fire in the winner.

Two goals in three minutes from Thomas Dossevi and Charlie Austin saw Swindon earn a 2-2 draw at Hartlepool.
Pool took the lead after four minutes through Adam Boyd's tap-in and Antony Sweeney lobbed in the second eight minutes later.
But substitute Dossevi and Austin made the most of defensive mix-ups to secure a point.

Plymouth substitute Rory Patterson marked his home league debut with an equaliser in the fourth minute of stoppage-time in a 1-1 draw with Carlisle.
Patterson swooped to sweep the ball home from eight yards after Joe Mason helped Bondz N'Gala's header into the danger area.
Ian Harte had headed the Cumbrians ahead after 68 minutes.

Huddersfield's Gary Naysmith was red-carded towards the end of a goalless draw with Tranmere after bringing down substitute Kayleden Brown on the edge of the box.

Round Up

Francois Zoko scored his first goal in English football as Carlisle climbed to the top of the npower League One table with a 4-1 win over MK Dons.
The Ivorian sparked a flurry of activity in a 19-minute period either side of half-time with his 42nd-minute opener as he, James Berrett, Gary Madine and Tom Taiwo put the Cumbrians 4-0 ahead before Peter Leven pulled one back for the visitors.

Carlisle leapfrogged Oldham, who needed an equaliser from Dean Furman to take a point at Charlton after Scott Wagstaff had put the home side ahead in a game which saw Latics midfielder Jason Jarrett sent off for a second bookable offence.

Sheffield Wednesday maintained their early-season challenge with a 1-0 home victory over Brighton, with Giles Coke's first league goal for the club seven minutes before the break enough to claim the points.

Bournemouth are only a point behind the Owls in fifth place after a 3-0 win at Tranmere which saw them make light of the absence of seemingly out-bound striker Brett Pitman.
Goals from Josh McQuoid, Michael Symes and Mark Pugh had the game wrapped up with barely an hour gone.

There was a good away win too for managerless Hartlepool, who claimed their first three-point haul of the season with goals from Gary Liddle and Andy Monkhouse at Yeovil, while Ian Henderson's 84th-minute effort handed Colchester a 2-1 success at Rochdale.

However, Huddersfield saw victory on the road snatched from their grasp as Peterborough launched a concerted fightback.
Town led 2-0 through Jordan Rhodes and Graham Carey with 33 minutes gone, but an Aaron McLean double and further strikes from George Boyd and Craig Mackail-Smith completed a remarkable turn-around.

Walsall came from behind to beat Plymouth 2-1 with loan signing Reuben Reid spoiling Argyle boss Peter Reid's day with a 69th-minute winner on his debut, while Craig Westcarr's 53rd-minute strike saw Notts County home against Dagenham and Redbridge.

It finished all square at St James Park as Exeter paid tribute to the late Adam Stansfield with John O'Flynn's 75th-minute penalty making it 2-2 and denying Bristol Rovers victory, while the games between Southampton and Leyton Orient and Swindon and Brentford both finished 1-1.
