Transfers 2010/11 Season

Postby Pidge » Fri May 28, 2010 3:25 am

Leeds have pulled off a huge signing heading into their first season back into the Coca Cola Championship.

Kasper Schmeichel, from Derby County and previously Manchester City has signed for two seasons.

Leeds have beaten several PremierLeague teams to Schmeichel's services, so this is a great signing by their VERY underrated manager Simon Grayson. :D

My two cents worth on the toffees...

Beckford to Everton on a free, could be hit and miss with this guy. Heard alot of reports that when he is on he is hot but can go missing for lengthy periods. Hopefully Moyes can get the best out of him like he has done with alot of our players. With Yakubu supposively on his way to West Ham a quality striker will be needed to support King Louis next season. Hatem Ben Arfa from Marseille has been mentioned...

After Rodwell and Cahill penned new deals i have my fingers crossed that Arteta will follow suit and sign a contract extension in the next 2 weeks and get rid of the speculation linking him to Arsenal and Man City :ympray: this guy is a rock in our midfield and would be badly missed.

Its sad but i think Pienaar is on his way out to a CL club next season and why wouldnt you, he is 28 and has the ability to play higher but i really think he will struggle away from Everton. I think Bilyaletdinov will have his break out season now, just like Fellaini who took a season to settle in i think we will see big improvements from this guy and would can't wait to get Felli back in the squad. The word going around is the replacement for Pienaar could be Joao Moutinho??

Of course none of this is cemented or backed up anywhere, just purely rumours i have read and my thoughts...

No matter what happens Moyes always seems to pull something out of the hat and i expect no different in the transfer market this season. Just please have majority of the transfers completed before the season starts instead of leaving it until the last day.

Nice write up there Cossi. I completely agree that keeping Arteta is a must. Most underrated playing in world football STILL IMO.

Agree on your comment that Moyes could be the manager to get the Best out of Beckford and his best is certainly brilliant.

Maybe need to start a CCC Transfer thread. :(
Marney to Burnley Fee £1m.

Marney was at Hull but couldn't get a game

Clarets also after Rob Hulse. Might not be a bad move, given how short were are up frnt. (Short in both senses, tallen and height)

Fletcher to Wolves in a deal worth £7.5m and includes keeper Hennesy and "striker" Iwulumo.

Thompson Carlisle, Duff all signed two year deals. Blake is edging his bets but has less than a week to decide. Jensen likely to sing up again.

Are you really happy about it though?

He's loooong past his best and will still cost you a fortune in wages.

I though West Ham would have learned from Dyer, Ljungberg et al?

New managers come in and make the same mistakes as their predecessors.

Yeah but Henry was alot better than Dyer and Ljungberg ever were. We are struggling for players up front and could form a deadley partnership with Barlton Bole.

This is great news.

Apparently, we've upped his wages to 80k per week.
That's huge for Spurs, who normally pay relatively low wages.

Worth every penny IMO.

I believe the topic of this should relate to transfers in the 2010/11 window.
Let's keep it to CONFIRMED transfers and not media tittle tattle.

If you want a rumour thread, start one.

Yes mate.
All posts with unconfirmed transfers or newspaper rumours got deleted.

There is a new topic for rumours as preferably it's best to keep confirmed transfers in here.

Plus the slanging match going on with fabregas was getting out of hand.

Fletcher
Clarets to Wolves £6.5m

Good bit of business for the clarets who paid £3m for him last year. Personally I'm not sure what McCarthy sees in Fletcher. Wolves had the worst goal scoring record in the league so I can understand him wanting to strenthen his attacking options but Fletcher is hardly a prolific scorer and missed a hatful of certs last year. Also think he is too light weight. Still, time will tell

no its not, he is comming from Lazio where he played a whole 14 mintues in the last 6 months and they where fighting off relegation and he still couldnt get a gig.
The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas
