Bolton sign Martin Petrov from Manchester City

Bolton Wanderers have announced that Manchester City midfielder Martin Petrov will join the club on a free transfer on 1 July.

The 31-year-old was out of contract at Eastlands and was told in June that he would not be offered a new deal by manager Roberto Mancini.

Left-sided Petrov was signed by former City boss Sven Goran Eriksson from Atletico Madrid for £4.7m in 2007.

The Bulgarian international made 66 appearances for City, scoring 12 goals.

Petrov, who was Bulgarian Footballer of the Year in 2006, has previously played for German club Wolfsburg.

He has also made 77 appearances for Bulgaria, scoring 19 international goals.

Wigan Athletic sign Estudiantes striker Mauro Boselli

Wigan have signed Argentine striker Mauro Boselli from Estudiantes for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old has agree a four-year deal with the Premier League club.

Boselli scored 32 goals in 57 appearances for Estudiantes and was considered unlucky not to be part of Argentina's World Cup squad.

Manager Roberto Martinez told the Wigan website: "He's a goalscorer who lives to put the ball in the the net - a clever player and a natural finisher."

Boselli is the Latics' second signing of the summer following the arrival of Paraguayan defender Antolin Alcaraz as Martinez continues to strengthen a squad that finished in 16th place in the 2009-2010 campaign, only six points off the relegation zone.

Martinez is confident Boselli will bring something new to the team.

Wigan sign Paraguay defender Antolin Alcaraz

Wigan have signed Paraguay international defender Antolin Alcaraz from Belgian side Club Brugge.

The 27-year-old, who is in his nation's World Cup squad, has spent two-and-a-half seasons at Brugge, who were league runners-up this season.

Latics boss Roberto Martinez told the club's website: "We are thrilled to capture a player of Antolin's calibre.

"He's a highly versatile defender with great awareness and distribution and has pride in keeping clean sheets."

Alcaraz has been virtually ever-present in the Brugge side since joining them from Portuguese team S.C. Beira-Mar.

Wolves sign winger Stephen Hunt from Hull

Winger Stephen Hunt has signed a three-year contract at Wolves after moving from Hull for an undisclosed fee.

The Tigers, who were relegated from the Premier League in May, rejected a £5m bid from Wolves earlier this year.

But Republic of Ireland international Hunt, 28, struck an agreement with Hull chairman Adam Pearson that he would be allowed to leave if the club went down.

Hunt missed the end of last season with a foot injury and is not expected to be fit to return until late October.

"It's been a long time coming in terms of all the speculation," Hunt, referring to the bid from Wolves back in January, told the club's website.

"It was out of my control what happened in January, now it's done I'm looking forward to getting going."

Hunt is hoping that he will be able to make his Wolves debut sooner than October but will not rush his return.

Wolves sign French defender Steven Mouyokolo from Hull

Wolves have signed Hull defender Steven Mouyokolo on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

The Frenchman, who has an option on a fifth year, completed his move to Molineux following the Tigers' relegation from the Premier League.

Mouyokolo joined Hull from Boulogne in January 2009.

The 23-year-old becomes Wolves boss Mick McCarthy's third summer signing, joining defender Jelle Van Damme and former Burnley striker Steven Fletcher.

Mouyokolo, who has also played for French sides LB Chateauroux and FC Gueugnon, admitted he was thrilled with the move.

"I'm very excited and very happy," he said. "It was important for me to try and stay in the Premier League because I enjoyed last season, even though it was disappointing that Hull were relegated.

"I'm delighted to be staying in the league and even more so at a club with such history like Wolves.

"As soon as I knew they were interested it was always going to be a move which really appealed to me.

"I've heard a lot of good things about Mick McCarthy and have enjoyed talking to him - I'm looking forward to working with him and improving my game."

SILVA SEEKS GOLD WITH CITY

New signing David Silva wants to lead Manchester City into the Champions League for the first time in the club's history after finalising his move to Eastlands.

Silva arrived at his new club to complete a medical after helping Spain to their maiden World Cup success in South Africa.

The 24-year-old's move to City was announced while he was on World Cup duty, with the winger signing a five-year deal reportedly worth £24 million.

That contract was enough to prise Silva away from his boyhood club Valencia, where he signed as a 14-year-old, and he hopes to make an immediate impression in his new surroundings after Roberto Mancini's richly-assembled squad narrowly missed out on a Champions League place last season.

Piquionne, capped once by France, scored 11 goals in all competitions for Portsmouth, with three of those coming in their run to the FA Cup final.

Liverpool have agreed a fee with Fiorentina for the sale of defender Emiliano Insua and the player is travelling to Italy to discuss personal terms.

The Argentinian had a difficult season as injury to Fabio Aurelio meant he was first-choice left-back for most of the campaign and that eventually took its toll on his performances.

EVERTON SWOOP FOR JOAO SILVA
Everton have signed striker Joao Silva on a three-year deal from Portuguese club Desportivo Das Aves.
Officials from the Barclays Premier League club flew to Portugal this week to conclude the transfer of the 20-year-old, who has represented his country at under-20 level, for an undisclosed fee.
The forward was the second top scorer in Portugal's second tier, the Liga Vitalis, with 14 goals in 32 appearances last season - his first since turning professional.

NEWCASTLE SIGN DAN GOSLING
Midfielder Dan Gosling has completed his move from Everton to Newcastle.
The 20-year-old has signed a four-year deal after the Magpies stepped in to exploit a loophole in his contractual situation at Goodison Park.
Gosling is currently recovering from a serious knee injury and is unlikely to be available to his new club for several months.
Gosling, who will wear the number 15 shirt, told the club's official website: "It's a brilliant move for me. Now that the deal is done, I just can't wait to get started.

WILSON COMPLETES LIVERPOOL SWITCH
Liverpool have completed the signing of Rangers defender Danny Wilson after he passed his medical on Merseyside.
The 18-year-old centre-back has joined on a three-year contract.
Liverpool will pay the Scottish side £2million up front with a further £3million dependent on appearances and add-ons.
"This is a massive challenge for me. This is one of the best leagues in the world and I will be playing for one of the biggest teams in the world,'' said the Scottish Football Association and Football Writers' Young Player of the Year.
"Coming here from Scotland, people may say I might not be ready for this, but that is a challenge I want to put on myself and that's the reason I came here.
"It wasn't a difficult decision to come here as Liverpool are not a team who come in for you every day, so I can't wait to get started.

BRAMBLE SEALS SUNDERLAND SWITCH
Titus Bramble has completed his move from Wigan to Sunderland.
The 28-year-old central defender has signed a three-year deal after the two clubs settled on an undisclosed fee, understood to be in the region of £1million.
Asked about his aims for the new campaign, Bramble told SAFC TV: "To become a regular and for the team, it's to improve on last season.
"The signings he [Bruce] is going to make and the players we have here, we are definitely good enough to qualify for Europe.
"It's a great stadium and we have got some very passionate fans - it's better to be playing with them rather than against them."

Stoke have bought Kenwyn jones from Sunderland for 6m. That is an absolute bargain - well played Tony Pulis!!

Spurs bid 12m for KJ last january, but Bruce rejected the bid. Silly boy. I really rate Jones. He's a nightmare for defenders. He's got pace, good finishing, arial threat and strength.

Stoke look set for another good season and with a decent strikeforce, could press for as high as 8-9 IMO.

Great signing for Stoke, if they employ the same long throw tactics then Jones will score a bucketload.

that has been the major problem IMO. we defend well but going forward we really struggled. scoring mainly from long throws and set pieces...
hopefully he can partner with one or two of our strikers from last term and work well together... we definitely need more out of those blokes!!!
