Not wrong mate .. To be fair, nearly every players first touch and overall skill level was appalling, without Gerrard we can't break the lines and our skills dont stand up to a decent press from the opposition.

Being honest, I am getting a bit fed up with this "without Gerrard and Torres" guff. Liverpool are supposed to be one of the top 4 sides in the country. In fact I would go as far to say that the Clarets must have more depth than Pool right now. We have lost Paterson (our top scorer last year with 19 goals) and Chris McCann, our driving midfielder who also chipped in with 6 goals last year and won the young player of the year award at the club. Both out for 3 months and to Burnley, that's like losing Torres and Gerrard, but we don't keep bleating about it, we get on with it.

I think it's more about attitude than quality or depth. Are we really saying that Liverpool are a two man side? Benitaz has lost it and he has a team of passengers in my opinion. Like I said on another thread, there aren't too many in Red that would bleed for the shirt.

I don't go for the 2 man side thing either.
We recently defeated Man U without Gerrard, and defeated the same team last season with the 2 players you mentioned.
I do agree it makes it harder without those players in the side but we've won plenty of games with either or both of them missing.
Liverpool had many 1st choice players out yesterday, not just Gerrard.
Why play Bjorn Borg though ?
He is hopeless and is NOT the future of the club.
Why not give Ngog a start or play Babel up front ( who surely must be on last chance saloon)

Woah, let's back the truck up ... Where did I say Liverpool were a two man side?

Surely there can be no doubting the abilities and match winning status that Gerrard holds, so he is an elite midfielder and naturally any team would be better for having him, all I've said is that noone is breaking the lines in his absence ... That doesn't mean I think Liverpool should be performing as poorly as we have without him in the team, nor Torres for that matter, there's clearly an issue with the performance of the remaining players and one that needs to be addressed.

- Cesc Fabregas gave us one of the goals of the season

Not sure about the Gomez comment mate. didn't he let one through near the post, thet went through his hands. Poor effort on that one. bit of an enigma is Gomez, a little like David James. Pulls off some stunning saves but can completelt fluff it too. Unfortunatel at EPL level, bad keeping mistales often lead to goals

Yeah he got a hand to it, but still wasn't an easy save by any means and I reckon his defenders need to cop more blame on it ... I've always thought Gomez has been enigmatic too mate, but we must have seen the first half differently, I stand by my opinion that he made some excellent saves.

Sorry spud. That comment wasn't directed at you. My point was that Liverpool should still be a potent side without them, but I think that's what you are saying too so I guess we are in agreement

Probably a good move.
You could easily miss the only goal of the match whilst you are waiting for the bartender to re-heat you another beer.

Yeah good on you Marty, I would have thought as a Man U fan you would know better than to whinge about any other club being the beneficiary of a bad decision ... You laugh when we lose to a Beach Ball and now brand us cheats when we get a lucky break, bravo mate!!

Terrible dive by N'Gog and I hope the club doesn't condone it ... Hard to blame the ref because in real time I thought it was a certain penalty too, unfortunately the replay showed just how bad the situation was.

Oh that is a laugh.

How often do I see Liverpool fans post crap about United getting all the ref decisions yet you get plenty yourselves but it is fine for you Pool supporters to have a whinge innit!

It was tough for the ref I agree, from his angle it would have looked like a penalty but until the various FAs deal out harsh penalties for diving it will always be a problem in this game.

Don't remember you sharing much of that opinion while Ronaldo was in town, but good form to pipe up when it suits you ... Nice selective memory too, I think you'll find it's not just Liverpool fans that bleat about the favours Man U get, but in fact all teams supporters (and jeez don't Sir Alex and co. squeal like cut snakes when something doesn't go there way).

Of course if Man U fail you can always fall back on Cardiff and if they fail Im sure you can find some other winning club to attach your name to.

I thought it was more an attempt to avoid the tackle rather than dive for a penalty.
Certain "experts" in the media in the UK tend to agree with that perception too.

Yes because Cardiff are a footballing super power and North Adelaide have dominated the SANFL year after year. Centrals who?

So basically other punters on here can have a crack at Man Utd when it suits them but I can't criticise anybody because I support Man Utd? That is pretty ******* ridiculous if you ask me. On this forum everyone loves to bag United but when they cop a bit of crap their way then they have a cry about it!

You also love to go on about Ronaldo diving yet your captain is one of the biggest divers around and only recently you stole a point because one of your players dived.. yet that doesn't stop you bagging Ronaldo and nor should it... just as there shouldn't be an issue with sticking it to Liverpool if they blatantly cheat.
