Barely two months into the season and here are the latest odds on who will be the 1st manager to go.

SACK RACE - LATEST ODDS
Phil Brown (Hull City) 2/1
Harry Redknapp (Tottenham) 2/1
Paul Hart (Portsmouth) 3/1
Alex McLeish (Birmingham) 11/1
Gary Megson (Bolton) 11/1
Rafa Benitez (Liverpool) 20/1
Mick McCarthy (Wolves) 25/1
Gianfranco Zola (West Ham) 25/1

28/1 bar.

My view is, Brown will probably be the first manager to get the flick unless Hull can turn it around pdq. A loss at home to Wigan today will just be anothe nail in the coffin. How people have short memories. Hull were a no nothing side going no where before Brown came along. they were lying 2nd to bottom in the CCC when they came to Turf Moor only 18 months ago, and Brown took them all the way to the promised land, and then managed to keep them there, against all the odds.

In doing so, he just raised the expectation bar and such is the cost of relegation from the EPL these days, the directors will panic and look for another savious before it's too late. The big question is who could come in and do a better job?

McCarthy and McLeish both featuring in the list as a joke. Both have steered Wolve and Brum respectively, to the EPL and the odds are stacked against any newly promoted side, with 50% of them going straight back down. Good to see that Owen Coyle isn't featured, and the likelyhood of hime getting the boot, whether Burnley survive or not, is pretty remote. I am more concerned that we will lose him to another club, particularly if he doesn't get the support he needs from the board.

Megson is a more likley candidate for the sack imo. Bolton have established themselves in the EPL and he hasn't reproduced the glory years under Allardyce. I also see Bolton as one of the main threats to the Clarets holding on to Coyle.

not suprised to see Rafa in that list. It is well documented that he is unhappy with the board, and the fact that his spending pot will be no more than £20m o ver the next 4 years may well just push him over the edge. Despite what die hard fans chose to believe, he is a spending coach, and needs a big fund to play with. I think if the right job comes up in Spain, he would be off.

Paul Hart must be under pressure too, but who else would want to take on the Portsmouth job. Let's face it Pompey are up the creek without a paddle right now, with most of the talent gone, panic buying of players, £16m in unpaid wages, and even if there is any more transfer funds his hands are tied until January. If they have any sense they will leave Hart alone, just to give the club a spark of stability. for Pompey, read Newcastle.

as much as i would love to see redknapp leave the spuds, or him to be sacked then added to the list of managers that have gone through white hart lane lately. WHy is Harry second best odds to be on the way out?? arent tottenham in the top 6 going pretty well? yes they have lost two matches but it was against chelski and man united? or is it just the usual behind the scenes saga at the lane?

doesnt make sense.

Crazy goal for the cats as the ball took a big deflection off a big red balloon that was thrown onto the pitch by the Liverpool fans

Was funny though watching Reina trying to save the balloon as the ball went into the net

Greetings all, some decent games on this weekend. Is West Ham any chance of beating Sunderland?

Gunners score 2 inside about 20 seconds to lead 2-0 at halftime ... Odd game, with random thoughts on the 1st half:

- Tottenham looked settled and not over awed and closed Arsenal down to take away most of that customary Arsenal fluidity.
- Both teams were playing good end to end football but struggling for impact around their box.
- Gomez made some excellent saves and can't be blamed for either goal
- Cesc Fabregas gave us one of the goals of the season
- Tottenham playing too much long ball to Crouch ... Im not sure if thats just because he was in the starting lineup, or because Defoe and Lennon are missing (Liverpool often played similarly when he was there, overlooking the fact that his best skills are with feet and not head)
- Always one of the best games to watch for neutral supporters (IMHO)

2 all draw, better than a loss away!

Im just looking at the match write up now, Sunderland came from 2 nil down. West Ham should be dissapointed with that, a good chance to get out of the red with a win there and they let it slip. Espically when Sunderland were down to 10 men.

Voronin should never be allowed to wear the red shirt again.
He needs to go back to winning Wimbledon and doing rexona commercials.

Not wrong mate .. To be fair, nearly every players first touch and overall skill level was appalling, without Gerrard we can't break the lines and our skills dont stand up to a decent press from the opposition.

Not sure about the Gomez comment mate. didn't he let one through near the post, thet went through his hands. Poor effort on that one. bit of an enigma is Gomez, a little like David James. Pulls off some stunning saves but can completelt fluff it too. Unfortunatel at EPL level, bad keeping mistales often lead to goals
