Good bloke
He told me on Friday that if BURNLEY had come in for him when Coyle left he would have jumped at the chance.

Open attacking football in this league gets you crucified.
We had a full house for every home game and sold out our away allocation for every away game.
That's what happens when you have been out of the top flight for over 30 years. I don't see any difference with Blackpool this year.

Just enjoy the season come what may.

No arguments there.
Be interesting to see what would happen to teams like Burnley if they were allowed one more year in the big league, im sure their game plan would change and they would be better for the experience. The sad truth is that a club like Burnley or Blackpool that gets relegated may take many years to recover.

We still haven't recovered.... :(

Carbone well and truly ****** you guys up. 4 year contract and £30k a week, and you just couldn't offload him he was that crap, and at a time when there were no parachute payments.

Bad decision by the board to offer such a crazy contract but you did manage to stay up against all the odds the previous year and they were desperate, and you know what desperate men do.

This I kind of agree with, though Carbone was a gun... For someone who people thought was to flighty etc, I never saw him shirk a challange, always chased down lost causes (of which there were many) and generally tried hard...

Sure he shouldn't have been signed on those massive wages, but Geoffery Richmond has admitted to his 6 weeks of madness that we are still suffering from. Carbone, Collymore (I love him just for the overhead he scored in his debut against L**ds), Hopkins, Petrescu...were all to much, but if it has just worked... he would have been seen as a genius.

Carbone was one of the only players who sacraficed wages when we were financially screwed, and actually didn't chase the pay he was rightfully (read contactually) due...

So I agree that we were desperate and wrong decisions were made, but can't agree that Carbone was crap...

Bloody Richmond

I bow to your obvious better knowledge of the situation Jase.
We kept it tight last year and although we didn't survive, we came down financially sound and have the added bonus of £12m a year for four years.

this week

really hope brum can get a point away at blackburn, if we can jag 3 points id dare say we are almost safe

bolton should defeat west ham and that would make it tough for west ham

chealsea should knock off wigan - which I think would basically mean the end for them

blackpool at home to arsenal - early in the season blackpool were good at home, but they just faded late in the season, they play a fairly open style and a reasonable side like arsenal should score and win

Blackpool have 4 home games in a row coming up. Some winable matches in there too. That period will make or break their season.

Personally I think my mob Villa deserve to go down after a terrible season but given that we escaped (and that's all it was) with a draw against Wigan to take us to 42 points we are probably safe. That is fortunate because with our last two games being against Arsenal and Liverpool I couldn't see any more points coming!

Big win for Wolves against bitter rivals WBA.

Blackburn drew at West Ham
Wigan got a draw,

Gonna be an interesting 2 weeks. Blackburn have Man U and then Wolves,
West Ham play Wigan
Blackpool's last game is away to Man U.

If united grab the point needed at blackburn, id expect us to wheel out the b grade for last match to rest the guns for CL. They should still account for blackpool but it may even it up a little. Reckon the hammers are gone, cant see them picking up too many points, after that its still a lottery

Was thinking the same re Man U
Can't see fergie risking players if the title is sown up. Will be interesting to see the reaction if he does and Blackpool pick up points. There will be a few complaints from whoever goes down
