Would love to see a stat on how Chelsea have fared without Essien. Personally i think he is the most valuable player in the Premier League (provided he is playing in the middle of the park). Without him Chelsea always look vulnerable IMHO.

Definitely. One of the key players in the Chelsea line-up without a doubt.

In the transfers 2010/2011 thread it says Chelsea can choose either Luiz or him to play in the CL. Looks like he will get to play!

Nup he's still at the Bridge mate .. Wouldn't think he and Sturridge and Kalou would all still be there by the end of the summer though.

Sturridge will surely be gone, he has joined Bolton on loan until the end of the season so maybe there could be a purchase there. It was a stupid move by him to join Chelsea in the first place.

Got a mate on holidays in uk at moment, he reckons drogba already has got shits because ancelotti has told him he will only play one of them in european cup so torres and drogba will have to rotate. Drogba likes being the focal point so it will end in tears. Drogba to join jose at madrid i reckon

Might not be far off the mark there Jimbo. Drogba has been a great servant for the club. Everything you want in a frontline striker. Selfish, able to cheat, and knows where the goal is.

Not sure when his contract expires but I would have thought Chelsea would want to offload him whilst they can still get a fee. Drogba probably needs a new challenge now and a move would suit his career and his pocket.

Whilst Roman has splashed the cash for Torres, his ultimate goal is to get Chelsea profitable and a return on Drogba would definitely be an option on his mind.

In fact I think Anelka will actually make a better partner up front than Drogba. He is more of a team player

LOL Some Liverpool fan just sent Cornes and Rowe a message about Torres along the lines of:

His armband said he was a Red,
But like some he was just for rent,
In our backs he stuck the knife,
I hope John Terry f..ks his wife!

Lol

Actually I think Torres has been a decent servant to Liverpool. Got injury prone in the last season but who can really blame him for wanting away from Liverpool. The last two seasons they have been a disorganised rabble and any player with ambition and the obvious skills that Torres has would want to play in a top side.

If the finger wants pointing at anyone, then it should be the Liverpool owners who ****** the club in the first place.

Hard to disagree with that Johnny boy, although I always feel that the term "ambition" is used loosely .. Effectively in many cases it means "I want to be put in a successful team that has already won titles".

When that happens, then I reckon a star player is basically bludging off of the others to a degree.
