lol well he is actually a great player if he would just player and not do the rest of his s**t. But I can see him going to Inter.
The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

Great ability when on song for sure, but a serial diver and nutter, caused more damage to his own club than he inflicted on the opposition this year (some would extend that further)

Citeh has a couple of major problems IMO. As you've outlined, they don't have Europe and really aren't a big, big club. So despite being able to pay stupid transfer fees and wages they're not going to be able to attract the cream of the crop.

Secondly, as a result of problem no 1, they're going to have team harmony issues as a result of buying second rate players on huuugely overinflated transfers, paying them stupid wages and inflating their ego's way above their realistic value to the team.

Citeh to do a Newcastle in 2009/2010? Highly doubt it, but IMO, they'll be somewhere in the mix of 9-15.

But on what basis are they going to do better?

I've outlined why I think they'll be trousers again. Why would they improve suddenly? Where's the surprise going to come from?

I'd like to know where the surprises will come from as well. If you ignore the odd game where they pantsed inferior opposition at home they were really quite rubbish this season. They didn't even put up a fight in the Manchester derby and away from home they were a rabble, Robinho should sign a contract which states that he only has to play at COMS.

You would think they couldn't be that bad away from home again, but that said they were reasonable at home this season (certainly earlier on) and would need to match or better that again next season ... They certainly have it all before them.

You would think Fulham probably played above themselves this season and wouldn't finish as high next term, but really this (whole discussion) is all speculative based on the same personnel as we saw this year, which will no doubt change markedly.

guess i cant pick the reason why, just have a feeling that city will do ok. its just IMO. I guess now that the current players have all played together and now know each others styles and plays so it could work in their favor

Yeah this has been coming for a while, and the report I read had serious concerns about the solvency of the company that holds the LFC

From http://www.4thegame.com

Barcelona could be about to take advantage of the reported money worries at Liverpool and sign Javier Mascherano.

The Anfield club's parent company Kop Football Holdings Ltd yesterday reported a loss of £42.6million for the year ending July 2008.

This may force Rafa Benitez to part with some of his best players and Barca are reportedly poised to capitalise.

The Sun reports that the Champions League winners are considering a £20million move for Mascherano, who signed for Liverpool in January 2007.

Coach Pepe Guardiola wants to improve his squad still further, despite sealing a treble of the Champions League, Copa del Rey and La Liga last season.

Know who's in form? Predict the results of this week's games and win with Soccer 7!
Mascherano came to England in 2006 when he moved to West Ham United on loan along with Carlos Tevez.

He is a regular in the Argentina national side and has also played for River Plate and Corinthians.

thats gotta hurt you guys alot, so close to getting that premier league title you have missed out on for years and then this, might be a tough season for LFC if they have to sell most of their quality players.

Hopefully the owners would sell up before it came to that, but you're right, it would be painful if we had to sell wanted players.

Wigan have thier replacement for Bruce. Now let's hope Celtic get thier man in mowbray.

Thanks to Skysports

WHELAN - MARTINEZ DEAL DONE

Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has confirmed that Roberto Martinez will be the Premier League club's new manager.

An official announcement on Martinez's appointment is expected to be made in the next 24 hours, but Whelan has revealed to Sky Sports News that the deal is done.

The Spaniard, who has agreed a three-year contract, emerged as Wigan's top target soon after Steve Bruce left the Latics to take charge of Sunderland.

Swansea were initially reluctant to allow Martinez to speak to Wigan, but Liberty Stadium chairman Huw Jenkins relented once a reported £2million compensation package had been agreed.
