Wasnt a great game but we looked solid and created a few half chances. Defence looking a lot tighter. Take the 3 points and move on

Disappointing by Villa last night. First home game of the season and failed to show any decent goal threat. We should have started the big man Rudy Gestede to add a different dimension from the outset.

Was nervous about this one... spurs killed us in the first half, dominated possession and had a few chances but our defence was resolute. First goal was poor marking at a corner and the second took a massive deflection which wrong footed Butland. Diouf had 1 fantastic chance just prior to spurs getting their second but fluffed it and then had another chance early in the second.

Ireland and Joselu came on at the hour mark and turned the game, plus kane going off injured helped. Ireland and Arnautovic teamed up really well and look very dangerous until ireland put joselu through. He turned Alderweireld really well and got dragged down earning a penalty that Arny dispatched. Then we pressed and 5 minutes later the same two, Arny and Ireland combined down the left and Ireland put in another great cross between the CBs and Diouf got a hair on it and levelled the game.

Butland was superb with a couple of top shelf saves to keep us in it, looks to have grabbed the opportunity as our new #1 very well.

Happy with the two points but still plenty of upside. Irelands showing gives us more central midfield options and with Bojan and Shaqiri to come in soon I'm excited by our set up!
I am not talking to you for 3 minutes because you punched me in the head and it hurt and that was not okay for you to do
