Yeah. I've just seen it for the first time. It was a tough call. The ref did take a while to make his decision. As the commentator said, he didn't quite get enough of the ball.

All i can say is goodluck to Tottenham in the replay at the fortress that is Elland Road :)

Sorry Pidge, but how can it be a penalty it he 'didn't quite get enough of the ball'?

If a defender gets even a bees dick of a touch on the ball, it can't be a penalty. Dawson clearly touched the ball and it wasn't a pen. No chance.

Aside from that, Spurs had their chances and fooked it up. WHY, WHY, WHY is Defoe taking penalties? SERIOUSLY, WHY!!!!!

Thank heaven the replay is taking place on Feb 2 when Beckford will be at the Geordies.

a good win for the Potters, now we have City away. my guess is we will fail at this hurdle, but we'll see. who didn't pla for Arsenal? how under strength were they? and the draw kills me, we could've got an easy beat like Leeds or Tottenham but you get that... ;)

no gallas, no vermahlen. Arshavin, eduardo, ramsey subbed in second half for 3 youngsters. walcott not at his best. Campbell first game for a short while at that level. Silverstre is just sh.t if you ask me. Take nothing away from stoke they played well and deserved the win.

Maybe what the commentator was saying that he didn't get enough of the ball to totally convince the ref... but i agree with what you say. Although it went in favour of us, so it counts ;)

I heard Defoe has missed his last 4 penalties. Is that correct?

Its almost fact that Beckford won't be moving. Simon Grayson has said that it'd take a huge offer (significantly more than 2 million, which wont happen) for them to even consider letting him go as it's too late to get a good replacement in.

Do you think Spurs will play a full strength team in the replay? The winner plays Bolton away, which is a very winnable tie.

Yep - can confirm Defoe has missed his last 4 pens. What a joke.

2m for Beckford sounds like a bargain when you compare that to what we've paid for our strikers:

Defoe 15m
Keane 12m
Pavlyuchenko 14m
Crouch 9m

We could have saved a shitload and just got Beckford in!!!

Spurs were close to full strength for the home tie  . I don't expect us to go with a worse side than Sat.

4 in a row! Why does he keep taking them?

His spot kicks are almost as bad as Dadi's.

I'm hoping we get promoted and he will stay.

How did Kisnorbo go DA? I didn't get a chance to see the game this time.

I didn't catch the game either, only highlights.
Unfortunately, I can't get a download for the game either.

Surely Beckford would rather become a Leeds legend, seeing them prgress back through the CCC and puch for EPL than be a glory hunting mercinary at Newcastle?

Wenger paid the price for arrogantly flirting with form. He says that certain players needed a rest in view of a hectic EPL and Champions League schedule coming up but would he have rested those players if they were playing Chelsea in the FA Cup yesterday? No!
The bottom line is he underestimated Stoke.

I'll be doing my all to watch the replay even though it will be a 6am game midweek by the looks of it.

I hope you're right. We would be a mid table team at least in the CCC and IMO if we get promoted and with a couple of signings and good form we could get promoted again two or three seasons after that. He's only attracted interest from average Premier League teams, so there's every chance he would be back in the CCC next season and against Leeds. I doubt he will be going anywhere though at least for six more months.
