It would appear that the possible move of Wilfried Zaha back to the club is the catalyst as Parish wanted him but Pulis didn't. Seems strange that on Tuesday Parish was saying basically it's the managers call on who he wants to transfer to the club but barely two days later that is supposed to be the reason Pulis left. Could only happen in South London.

Given the great work Tony Pulis did you'd have thought the club would have backed his plans to the hilt.

Still managers come and go and there are a few good candidates to replace him e.g. Malky Mackay, Steve Clarke and David Moyes.

Reckon that flog Sherwood will end up with the gig

Parish is a joke
Brings in a manager and tells him he has total control over the footballing side including which players he wants, and then signs someone after meeting them by coincidence in a bar. The guy is a loose cannon and why the hell the other 3 directors don't get off their arses and so something is beyond me.

Palace will end up with yes men managers whilst he is still around as any decent manager with his own ideas and mind wouldn't touch them with a barge pole

Top 4 (in order)
Chelsea
City
Liverpool
Arsenal

Relegated
Burnley (Sorry JTC happy to be wrong on this if it's to see Arry **** up again)
West Brom
Villa

Best team outside the top 7:
Stoke

Golden Boot:
Think RVP and Aguero will struggle to keep fit long enough to challenge and hoping the Chavs have forgotten how to feed a forward a Costa is a flop so I'll plump for Sturridge (no bias at all here)

Best signing:
Bojan Krkic - purely and simply for the first time he nets and all the headlines scream Mr. Bojan-goals

Worst signing:
Joe Cole - seriously what do Villa hope to get out of him in the 3 games he's fit for?

2nd Manager out the door
Would have loved to have known the odds on Pulis being first out but Paul Lambert looks to be on borrowed time.

League Cup:
Stoke

FA Cup:
Arsenal - I'm assuming they will get all the home games again this year.

Champions League:
Real Madrid - pretty sure back to back hasn't been done but I think Barca and Atletico will slip a bit this year giving them an easier campaign domestically.

Europa:
Who ******* cares.

These will or won't be revisited later in the year depending on how close I think I am.

Hey it's ok. We know where we are in the scheme of things. Better to be overachievers than underachievers
Agree about Lambert, even after their win today. Roy Keane as assistant is just a transitionary period until he takes over.
Joe Cole, now that is a joke.
After today's games is go
Chelsea
Man City
Daylight
More daylight
An arctic summer
Arsenal
Liverpool
Everton
Burnley ;) I put that in for comedy effect but they have as much chance of winning the title as anyone outside the top 2
Hull
Tottenham
Man Utd at least 4 players short. Just a shadow of their former selves and will find it tougher to attract top players without CL football

At the other end I'd say
West ham
Sunderland
Swansea
Crystal Palace
------------------------
West Brom
Southampton
QPR

Mackay is odds on and his big mate from Swansea is Director of Football at Palace

I changed my tip from Man U win to draw when I saw the lineup he put out! God it looked horrible, just wish I'd thrown a fiver on the Swans think they were $9 around the place.

They don't have the quality at wing back or in central defence to be able to pull off 3-5-2 and will be a long amusing year if they keep trying with those plodders!

Man city sit pretty on top of the table . They didnt look that good last night but again was the first game of the season.

Next weekend will be the real test for most teams. We have Everton away and hope we improve on our pathetic performance that we showed there only 4 months ago

Man city v liverpool on tuesday morning is the game of the weekend

Ahem. This weeks fixture list isn't finished yet.

I'd have thought this week was a real test. Let's look at the "fancied" sides
Arsenal scraped home 2-1 after scoring in time added on against a team that lost its manager two days before the start of the season.
Liverpool scraped home with a late winner against a team that lost most of its players and its manager during the closed season.
Man Utd lost at home to a team that had never won a league game at OT before and are one of the favs to go down
City took until the 92nd minute to kill off Newcastle

I'd have thought there were some testing games there mate

Chelsea haven't played yet but rest assured they will be tested tomorrow, whatever the result

Speaking of testing games, it's nice to kick off your 1st home game of the season against a team below you on the ladder.
Clarets up to 12th. Good start so far.
