That's right Constance, to avoid fixture congestion we don't muck around with those mickey mouse cups called the Champions League, FA Cup or Premier League, we want the biggest of them all.

Liverpool wouldn't of fielded there most entertaining side against Burnley in the next round anyway as Djimi Traore has departed.

Reading deserved the win, well done.

I always laugh at muppetts that follow two teams and have two bob each way.....

Hahaha you are sensitive today. Resorting to slinging insults at those lucky enough to support more than one good team to relieve your pain?

Two teams = twice the fun. Even better, twice the pain when each team loses.

Readings championship season run into the Premier league was my all time favourite sporting moment.
Watching Manchester United live in the great comeback champions league win was AS good.
Yeah my granny lived there (Manchester, as did my father, his father etc etc)! I was born a United supporter.
My friends are from Reading - I've follpwed them since they were in the old 3rd division back in the 80's.
Love em both, red devils and royals!

When they play each other, extremely rarely I might add, I just enyoy the game, little team vs big team.

I feel sorry for the muppets that only support 1 team! Especially big 4 premier league teams - there's more to football than Europe and titles.

btw - lol@liverpool :P

Why ? For example. My wifes family are from Burton upon Trent, which is located about 25 minutes from Derby.
They have followed Derby all their lives as the main team, however have followed Burton as their "local".
This is no different to myself following Glenelg as my main & Lockleys as my local.

The beauty of the English Football system is that my inlaws "local" team is now in League 2. Their main team is in the Championship and they only have one league separation. They've never been in that boat before, but alas the way Derby are going who knows in a few seasons time
Derby could play Burton and then they'll be in trouble.

Do you think everyone in England follows the one team ? Of course not. No different to people following an AFL, SANFL & Amateur team here, except unlike here there is always a remote chance the "Amateur" team could one day meet up with the big boys.....
The joy of being on the hill drinking beer cannot be understated

Oh come on mate, you had a whole 45 minutes to score those goals. We had about two. ;)

Almost fantastic post by blues2002. Just because I go for Cardiff as well doesn't mean I don't feel pain when they lose, last season I thought I would finally see them in the Playoffs after teasing so often but they collapsed at the end, a 6-0 loss saw them miss the playoffs by just the 1 goal, it was devastating.

What lowest of the lows mate. Like the time in 1987 when sitting in 92nd place and you had to win your last game of the season to avoid being relegated to non league football and certain oblivion.

Liverpool...lowest of the lows, that's a laugh

Which lows? since the 70's you have been on the top and this is probley your lowest point since and its not really that low. Let me guess you started following Liverpool because of Craig Johnstone? I love the way scouse and yanited fans bang on about not being band-wagon jumpers to each other.

Look I will be honest I started following Chelsea because we won a thropy..............

We might have had 45 minutes, but we scored all 3 within 6 minutes ... Now we need 6 weeks to do that :?

In my lifetime it is true, Liverpool supporters in pure footballing terms have had a wonderful run of success. Off the pitch LFC have endured two horrific tragedies, Heysel and Hillsborough. One would have to agree that those times would have to be considered 'enduring lows'?

And no, my being a red hot Liverpudlian has nothing to do with Craig Johnstone being the first Aussie to wear the shirt, being born to a Scouse Mother and a Lancashire Father who spent most of his latter teens and early twenties living in the city (before emigrating) and numerous trips to stay with family over many years is why I am Red....so no bandwagons in sight here lad.

Why is Craig Johnstone always mentioned as Australian ?
He was born in South Africa.
What was his footballing background in Australia ? does anyone know.
I'm pretty sure he never represented the socceroos.

There was a bloke who played for spurs in the 80/90;s and played for England but was always called an Aussie as well, can't remember his name.
