Actually, maybe a few years back he might well have been in line. Great player for Man U and (can't believe I am about to say this), did a decent job for the b4st4rds.

Think his move and performance to Man City has probably pushed his name down the list a bit.

So now where is Platini ?????????????????????? Hmmmmmm mysteriously silent again.

WENGER SLAMS ROME VIOLENCE

Arsene Wenger denounced the violence with marred Arsenal's European tie against Roma - but does not feel the Champions League final needs to be moved away from the Stadio Olimpico.

An Arsenal fan suffered a suspected stab wound in a clash with Roma's notorious 'Ultra' hooligans before Wednesday night's game, which saw the Italians eventually eliminated following extra-time and penalties.

It was not the first time travelling supporters have been hurt in the city, with Manchester United supporters twice targeted over the last two seasons, and there have been calls for the showpiece match in May to be switched to another host venue.

However, asked if the location should be changed, Wenger said: "No, even if I am conscious that what happened is not acceptable. "It has, of course, to be investigated, but I believe that is purely down to Roma's supporters. I have been to many Champions League finals, and it is always a much more neutral and corporate atmosphere in the final. You have people from all over the world who want to see the European Cup final, and I do not think that it will face the same problems."

As usual when it comes to Italian clubs, f$%k all will be said or done.

I read that as well John and thought the same thing.
If it was in England, Platini would be jumping up and down calling for bannings and moving games.
The quicker that bloke is out of office the better.

what adds insult to injury is that Rome get to host the final in the 1st place despite all the problems of the past.

You could hardly see that happening here. Still I have already aired my views on what a prick Platini is.

in a way i hope the gunners draw man united in the champions league, it will show how far we are off the pace and how far we need to improve to be a real contender, and intern might wake arsene up a bit and off his own planet he has been on the past months

There were fights in Manchester during the uefa cup final last season as well.
The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

Correct WSC. Rangers fans werren't happy at not winning do decided to "celebrte" glaswegian style. I wan't referring to not seeing a bit of aggro here, although remember it was Scotland and Russia, nothing to do with Mancs fans.

Rome are hosting the CL final and it was Roma fans that have caused bother plenty of times. What I was saying was that I couldn't see Old Trafford hosting the final if Mancs fans had been ruffling a few feathers there in a knock out round.

If United fans did what those Romans did then England would be kicked out of European Comps again. It is a joke that they are allowed to continue their annual stabbing sessions yet still host the Final.

Your right, Roma fans are scum and the hooligan trouble in Italy has got out of controll and I think that what happen in the U.K. with the Taylor report should happen in Italy. Maybe Platini wanted a holiday in lovely city :D but he is still a prick....then agian can't expect any diffrent he is french.

So, here's the draw for the last 8:

Villareal v Ar5ena1
Man Utd v FC Porto
Liverpool v Chavski
Barcelona v Bayern Munchen

The semis are:

Winner of Game 2 v Winner Game 1
Winner of Game 4 v Winner Game 3

IMO, we're in for a Man Utd v Barca final, which realistically is the best result for this season. Those 2 are amazing and play some brilliant football.

Come on Barca!

I wonder if Liverpool can score a goal against us that clearly goes over the line?

Should be good football to watch. Another great fixture will be Barca v Bayern. I tip Bayern

Well you can take the mystery goal or you can take Cech getting sent off and a penalty awarded.
Either way you lose and history shows LFC won the UCL that season.

Maybe if it goes to penalties John Terry can take the kick without his roller skates on.
