John Kosmina - who does he think he is?

Postby our_longreach » Fri Feb 16, 2007 12:13 pm

Fair dinkum, WTF is this bloke thinking.

Finally gets his team into the GF and then abuses a referee whilst being on suspension. He shows no remorse in media interviews during the week whatsoever and gets his just deserts with a ban from the GF and four other matches - and still shows no remorse for his actions.

What sort of an example is he setting to his players and supporters??

Would like to hear a statement from the Adelaide United hierachy (c'mon Dario speak up) on what their views are as I bet they are pissed off. He thinks he is allowed to do and say whatever he wants and the feeling I am getting is that the Adelaide public is starting to think he is a dickhead.

Reckon if United don't win this weekend his days might be numbered anyway??

well we all know he is DH with some of his player choices, but he has done his job and got the squad into a G/F.

he's not really banned from the g/f and 4 games, he just has to sit up in the stands and im not too sure that that is a real dis-advantage.

he shows no remorse for his actions because he believes in them and is standing up for what he believes in, more coaches should do the same.

his days might be numbered because speculation is rife that he is heading to BLING FC

it will not make a difference whether he is on the sideline or in the stands cause he just slouches back in his chair all day and never says a word anyway!

We have a 75% winning record with him in the stands so it could be a good thing.

The guys a dickhead and one of the reasons I wont support AU, unlike a lot of "newer" fans of the game I can remember him spending many years absoutely abusing and caning South Australian clubs and being a general wanker when it came to anything South Australian.
AU have had the advantage of a head start on other clubs (except for Perth who were always on a downward spiral) account for his better looking resume.
If you look at his overall coaching record it still sucks though.

I get the feeling Petrillio has just about had enough of having to front the FFA becouse of him, a result this weekend and good performances in the 07 ACL, or else we may have someone else in his place for the 07/08 season.
some shocking on field decisions this year, best thing he has done is award me man of the match for my performance on the other side of the fence in Brisbane for round 5.

Credit to Kosi, he has got the team in the GF BUT

Discipline starts at the top, how can he place that expectation on the team when he goes off like a loose cannon. Sport is an emotional game, but true champions are humble in victory and defeat

On the Park, Kosi has the results, but these serial offences may come back to bite him

that's a little inconsistent to what Kosi said at his post match press conference, he told the media and all his supporters that he was extremely happy with the process

happy with the draw simply becouse we were killed in general play, it was like 24 shots on goal to 4.
he was his usual pissed off self after the game, but had abit of time to cool down before fronting the media.

I struggle to work out my own thoughts on Kosi ... On one hand I think his selections are most concerning at times, and he patches over some glaring holes from time to time aswell as providing many cringe worthy moments, yet at the same time the guy is clearly passionate, and is a man's man in that he doesn't backdown from confrontation.

I think the AUFC brainstrust won't be too dismayed whenever the day comes that he departs as they would be sizing up Aurelio Vidmar for the role.

However in a League still in it's infancy with clubs & people trying to make a name for themselves, sometimes the old adage of "Any publicity is good publicity", and there's no doubting Kosi creates plenty of it.
