Quote Four Four Two

"GOLD Coast United are now in the A-League with billionaire owner Clive Palmer flying in by private helicopter to Skilled Stadium today to sign an FFA agreement to play in the A-League in 2009/10.
And he vowed to make the Gold Coast a football capital by winning the A-League in their first season in 2009/10."

So they get the jump on the AFL.

Should be a good in...

Yep correct...Had goals set up there for the launch...

Playing in similar colours to the Titans too, so good marketing for them...

Good luck to them, with the ridiculous number of people that shift to the Gold Coast every month, I am tipping they will have no real shortage of members / supporters!

At least there is a salary cap so we won't see Ronaldo knock back Man Utd and Real Madrid for the new Gold Coast team!

Any guesses on big international players coming towards the end of their careers about 2009/10 who might move to the Gold Coast?
Good weather, good lifestyle and a short season with a big pay cheque from the billionaire owner, it sounds pretty attractive.

Correct. Can have an under 23 that is subsidised 150 k outside the cap.

Therefore one would assume the coin thrown at Djite, would be more that what Adelaide could have given him with the 150k on top....

FYI, the Marquee players for the coming season ATM are;

Adelaide - Paul Agostino, Melbourne - Archie Thompson, Queensland - Craig Moore, Sydney - John Aloisi.

The other teams have yet to appoint one....
