He's never been a star player anyway, in his best years he was more of a "Johnny on the spot" type (which granted is an important quality for a striker to have) but his ability to find the back of the bag by foot has never been anything extraordinary, his skill's with the noggin have been his biggest attribute IMHO.

How is the ACL final set up? Is there only one game or a home-away leg. Where is the final if it is only one game, surely not Hindmarsh, they would want a bigger crowd than it can hold??

KK its over a home and away leg and yes Hindmarsh is the stadium that will be used. Its actually a good stadium all be it a tad small. But any larger and it would be wasted for normal A league games. The AFC has attracted alot larger crowds yes and the novalty of the adelaide oval fixtures draw the crowd but for regular games it would be like a ghost town

Lucky bastard!!!

I'm stuck at work finishing our annual report - BORING!

Fortunately, our office is empty, so Life FM will be blaring and if we score and get through, the curry munchers down the corridor will not know what's going on!

I'm really nervous about this..I remember when Adelaide City came back from a 3-0 deficit against Marconi at Norwood Oval about 10 years ago, a young Ang Costanzo come on for the Zebras and the black and whites won it with a fourth goal in extra time to win 4-3 on aggregate. I'd just love us to score early on and make it ultra difficult for Rivaldo's boys.

Will be staying up late and trying not to scratch my eyes out from the nerves...come on you Reds!!
C'mon you Reds....Adelaide United = its just like watching Brasil!!!

I love both footy[NOT the V/AFL!] and soccer, is that even allowed??;)

Hot tip Travis - in future, simply refer to Mag's Quiz threads. More than enough brain busters in there to keep the boys busy!

from the Venue tix website

The following ticketing information is if Adelaide United FC progresses to the AFC Champions League Final.

Adelaide United FC v TBC (Japan)
Wednesday 12 November 2008, Kick Off TBC
HINDMARSH STADIUM

Please see the following ticketing pricing policy:

In creating a members priority period, we have tried to design a system that is fair and equitable to all members. The World Sport Group (WSG) own all rights to the AFC Champions League, and as such, are required to be given first rights to ticketing. As a result of the ticketing requirements set out by the WSG there are only a limited number of reserved seats in the western grandstand available to Gold members. Tickets will therefore be allocated to members on a next best available basis.

We have developed the following ticketing priority period for Gold Members:

Gold Member Priority Period:
Phase 1: 9am Thursday 23 October until 11.59pm Friday 24 October

All Gold Members are limited to purchasing 1 reserved ticket for each Gold Membership they hold in the western grandstand (ie an adult member can buy 1 adult ticket, or a family member can buy 1 family ticket)

OR

All Gold members can purchase 1 reserved ticket in the western grandstand and 1 general admission ticket (please note that this option is only available through phone and outlet sales)

OR

All Gold members can purchase 2 general admission tickets per membership, forfeiting their reserved seat in the western grandstand

Alternatively, if you would like to purchase 2 reserved tickets in the western grandstand, you can choose to wait until the Phase 2 of the ticket sales. The right to purchase an additional reserved ticket is subject to availability, on a first come, first serve basis. You may not purchase a ticket in Phase 1 and then again in Phase 2. If you choose to purchase additional tickets after already purchasing in Phase 1, you can do so when tickets go on public sale from 9am Tuesday 28 October.

Phase 2: 9am Saturday 25 October until 11.59pm Sunday 26 October

Those Gold Members who have not purchased tickets in Phase 1 are entitled to purchase 2 reserved tickets per membership, subject to availability.

If a group exceeding 2 members are wishing to book and sit together, it is recommended to use the phone option or visit an outlet. Members will be required to quote or present all membership numbers. Bookings over the internet will be limited to 2 tickets per transaction.

If you are unable to purchase 2 reserved seats in the western grandstand due to unavailability, you will have 2 options to choose from:

All Gold members can purchase 1 reserved ticket in the western grandstand and 1 general admission ticket (please note that this option is only available through phone and outlet sales)

OR

All Gold members can purchase 2 general admission tickets per membership, forfeiting their reserved seat in the western grandstand

No tickets on sale on Monday 27 October

General public sales: from 9am Tuesday 28 October until fully subscribed
(All members are free to buy additional tickets during this period)

Red Member Priority Period:
9am Thursday 23 October until 11.59pm Sunday 26 October

All Red Members are entitled to purchasing 2 general admission tickets for each Red Membership they hold (ie an adult member can buy 2 adult tickets, or a family member can buy 2 family tickets)
All Red Members are only entitled to purchase general admission tickets during the priority period, but may purchase Gold reserved tickets once sales commence to general public

No tickets on sale on Monday 27 October
General public sales: From 9am Tuesday 28 October until fully subscribed

All members are free to buy additional tickets during this period

Tickets for the 2nd leg of the Final will be available for purchase from Venue*Tix by phoning 8225 8888, online at www.venuetix.com.au or by visiting a Venue*Tix outlet. You must be able to quote your membership number at the time of purchase. Please check the operating hours of your local outlets and phone sales. These may differ to the times listed above.
