Adelaides pathetic finals record comes out again. Disgraceful effort from a team with too many passengers. 3 or 4 guys are not good enough to play amatuer football, time to move them on.
Smeltz enjoy your win because hopefully your pathetic club will fold next year and you will be looking for yet another club

Adelaide United provide many laughs once again.

First the supporter throwing a half full coke bottle at the injured GC player.

And secondly the United player who didnt even get on the park (new croat bloke long hair) trying to confront the GC players after the game and having to held back by some support staff.
Once again Adelaide United the dummy spitters

Is that the one in the first half on the outer side.

If so the replay showed the GC player clearly won the ball before making contact with AU player. And if it was a foul first contact was slightly out the box anyway.

Contact was made with ball first by dilbvic, he then clattered into slory's legs INSIDE THE BOX, probably a foul elsewhere on the park but not deserving of a penalty IMO. The difference in the end was Smeltz first half wunder strike from 30 yards out.
That said adelaide got back into the game with a bit of luck and deserved a 2-1 lead when it came. After that though bodrusic failed to clear the ball properly, leading to djite's goal and proving how much we have missed fyfe since he left for korea. As for the penalty by Boogard, i repeat that we have missed fyfe since he left, should never have happened.
All in all a good year by united, highlights were obviously to go on a record unbeaten streak at the start of the season and two classy wins over the scum for the first time since '07.
Always a lowlight losing a final we should have won but this wasn't a choke, just beaten by a team that is very equal to us and took one more chance then we did.

we came from last to a semi-final after adding two quality players in van dijk and flores. we add a couple more for a full season next year (usucar, caravella) and cast off the dead wood from this campaign and i think we are on track.
All in all i think this season would be classed a pass but need to go forwards next year for it to mean anything.

Thought the penatly given to Adelaide was a great decision.

Holding shirts happens way to much at corners and deserves to be penalised as it would most definatly be a free anywhere else on the park.

Thought the ref had a great game!

Another laugh by Adelaide was the reported dummy spit by Cassio during the week where he stormed of at training and refuse to participate.

Yet he gets selected for the upcoming game. Discipline/Loyalty doesnt seem to be high on Rini's proiority list in both cases with both Cassio and Reid.

Who do you think fits that category?
For me id get rid of cornthwaite, pantelis and bodrusic asap, hughes and watson on my possibles to get rid of and jury still out on slory but looks average at best but he needs time to settle in and get over niggling injuries.
And finally if dodd wants to go let him,he has one good game every 5 or 6 and when the team needed the skipper tonight he went missing, very ordinary game. I know its a heap of changes especially with leckie gone but we wont achieve anything with this current squad, lets cut the dead wood and move on
