Tommy Smyth from ESPN ranks the Mariners as 25the best club in the world atm just behind Celtic!
Not bad for a club run on a shoestring budget!
Need to beat the Japanese team tonight to make the round of 16 in the ACL. Should be an entertaining game.

Tommy's list is garbage.
An A-League club wouldnt make top 200.
Mariners would be in bottom half of the Championship, so there is atleast 40 English clubs in front of them. Then you have Serie A, Lique 1, Bundersliga, Primera League just to mention a few.
There were 128 who entered the Champions League this year and an A-League side wouldnt beat any of them.
We may have the 25th best league in the world but thats about it

Be interesting to see how this goes.
Has been involved with Barca and Pep Guardiola speaks very highly of him.

He may be an expert but he is off his rocker.
I love the A-League and hope it gets better but as I said Mariners would struggle to finish top half in the championship.
Reading and QPR are crap but would still beat any A-League side 2-3 nil.
Ive watched/attended 1000's of games worldwide and followed soccer for over 30 years and I could name atleast 100 sides better than our best.
Old Tommy quite often has bogus lists, a few weeks back he didnt have Dortmund in his top dozen yet they will play in the CL final

Nup, you're wrong Jim.
How many times have Man U beaten West Sydney in a GF?
How many times have Real Madrid beaten West Sydney in a GF?
How many times have Juventus beaten West Sydney in a GF?
How many times have the Mariners beaten West Sydney in a GF?

You're right, he is off his rocket, we should be No 1 in the worlds!!!!

(Until later tonight when the Jap team beats us, ha ha)

Anyone remember what stage of the ACL you start making any money?
That's all that interests me along with maintaining our stance in the top 25 clubs in the world.

Wasnt that because the FFA or whatever said well done Adelaide and proceeded to give all the other clubs a share of what we should have received?
