There was at least 2 red teams in the nsl when they entered and the light blue would have been a point of difference.

Ummm i always thought it was pretty obvious the Sydney side was going to go with a light blue type strip considering its NSW 'state' colour.

But AUFC were an established team before the A-League, hence their colours would have carried over as did Glorys.

when they entered black and white or blue and white where two kit colour combos they where ruled out. also south melbourne, olympic, northern spirit, brisbane strikers, marconi, paramata power all had blue or light blue in there kit. So blue was never gonna happen and once the a-league was formed adelaide was the only red team.
The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

Adelaide United have been left red-faced, with the club admitting they offered a trial to a player who does not exist.

The Reds announced on Wednesday two overseas players had been offered a trial following an extensive search abroad to locate new recruits.

Portuguese striker Fabio Ferreira, formerly of Chelsea, and American Dexter Rosales were the players in question.

"Their pedigree is good and we've got to cast the net far and wide, so they'll come here on trial and we'll have a look at them," Adelaide United coach John Kosmina said in a statement.

Reds football director Michael Petrillo confirmed Rosales was pencilled in to train with the squad: "Rosales has been recommended to us. He's paying his own way here."

However, Adelaide acknowledged on Monday Rosales had not arrived and the club had been fooled by an elaborate hoax.

It was similar to an Internet scam, pay this now and we reimburse when we arrive. He wanted 15,000 to come over for a two month trial.

Rabble Rabble

theres only one Dexter Rosales, have already bought an AU shirt and getting rosales name on the back.

Adelaide United continue to be the laughing stock of the A-League, long may it last.

We now have 89-0 GF result, dummy spit after the game, Pissant town, Rini Coolen sacking, Flores leaving and now Dexter. Oh the laughes.

Cassio became an Australian citizen today so it frees up a spot to sign an overseas player.
Also makes him eligible for Socceroo selection

Adelaide United 6 - Brisbane 2 (trial game)

au - fyfe double, van djik, ramsey, jeronmo (sp?), ?? cant remember.
roar - visconte double (scores where 5-1 and 5-2 at the time)

brisbane played full strength except for theo (he legaly sortened his name twat) and nicholls came on at half time was already 3-0. Adeladie played them off the park and if they keep that up should be strong in both comps. the person who wheels on his house go round and round played an absolute shocked missed couple of easy chances, dove won a pen then had it saved by eugene and brosch after about 20 minutes walked around head down having a sulk for the following 70. Visconte came on first touch goal and like 3 minutes scored again. Fyfe found himself free and unmarked at the back of the box for both his goals, bruce did well, ramsey and cassio flogged them down the flanks. Vidosic controlled midfield and a lot of our good play came though him all in all a good all round preformance.

After a good win away in R1 and playing against the newest team... how many will turn up Friday night?

I think the club haven't really marketed this game/season very well and have missed an opportunity to get some non regular fans and neutrals to this game
