the Fresh FM guys have been handed a score update by the boys at Foxtel and said that united should be looking at booking tickets to Uzbekistan as they are in front 4-2 on aggregate

1st time I've ever been to a game of soccer. Atmosphere was fantastic. I always wondered how a game where there might only be a single goal scored could be classified as exciting. I found out the answer to that tonight. While I don't think AFL is under serious threat from soccer in the near future, from what I saw tonight it's definitely a sport on the rise. Great job Adelaide United! (and Hindmarsh is a brilliant stadium...)

good call CC, Hindmarsh full is the best atmosphere for a sporting event in Adelaide.....(the DHD can rock also when full)

was sensational there tonight, got in 10 mins before the game started and couldnt get a seat, still great standing room spots....Reds should have won 2-0 at least, they were very sharp from the start....tanking to Sydney was a great move.

Semi is on Wed 8th Oct, tickets on sale tomorrow 9.00am get in the queue!!!!

got some photos will post when I get a chance

Went to my 2nd ever soccer game tonight, United missed some sitters, especially in the first half, but did well to win it in the end.

What a win! That was incredible. Huge crowd and great atmosphere, when the goal went in and the final whistle blew it was amazing. I wish we could get crowds like that to every home game.

Cornflakes became a hero after his blunder last week.

The Uzbek team have one of the most skillful players I've ever seen in Rivaldo playing for them. He was a hero for Brazil at the 2002 World Cup. It's amazing that he will be coming to Hindmarsh Stadium, he's in great form for them too.

Hindmarsh Stadium is one of the best stadiums in Australia for watching sport. You get a good view from just about every position (unless you are standing half a dozen deep). Good to see some people are starting to realise what a great game this is, some people think a game with little score is boring but that one goal can completely change a game and when it comes the crowd goes mental.

Looks like it is Uzbekistan here we come and that the other semi is an all-Japanese affair. Home first on 8 Oct then away on 22 Oct. The good thing is that IIRC the Socceroos just played there in the World Cup Qualifiers so the Aussies will be able to get plenty of intel on conditions over there from the FFA.

As a South Australian soccer fan I hope he's wrong as it would be nice to once again have a club represent this state that actually has a history of winning things and not being the biggest chokers of all time since the Power and the Buffalo Bills!

I was there last night and I don't know how you can say it was a great atmosphere?? Adelaide would have to be the quietest crowd in the country. Think it only got loud maybe twice, one UUUNIITEDD chant and when we scored the goal. Those 200 Japanese fans made more noise then the 16000 Adelaide fans did all night!
Anyway was a good effort by the boys last night, Kashima never really got going. If we could have finished off we would have won 3-0!

Knocking off the 4th placed J-League side is a very good acheivement for a team that has only been around 5 years. Millions of dollars versus a team that pays 1/10th of that and we prevail. well done fellas

What a great game hey!
Cornthwaite - so frustrating, yet so good at times.
We psyched Danilo out with our physicality.
Cassio was great.
The sound was pulsating through the telly.

Wow Rivaldo....did not know that. he was a gun back in his Barcelona days. Lost the plot at AC Milan tho. He would still be worth the price of admission alone. The fact its a semi final makes it even sweeter.
