19 games without a goal is horrendous for a striker. If we had a Van Djik like striker we'd be so much higher on the ladder. The have your leading scorer equal with the own goals tally is also absolutely horrendous. While I'm at it, getting rid of one of our decent local defenders is absolutely ludicrous. The owners have to go and whoever thought that would be a good idea. **** off chairman and board

My understanding is that Malik was on a high wage bill and the owners decided that by releasing him they would save a heap of $ and they believe they have good depth at the back. I'm ok with that if they use the $ saved to go out and buy a striker but to bring in David Williams at a budget price just stinks of a board wanting to skimp on costs

A-League season 2015-16

Postby bennymacca » Mon Jan 04, 2016 2:43 pm

You guys would know more than me, but what are our chances of getting troisi?

My bro also said they are possibly looking at cornthwaite. If we have to offload malik to get cash for both of them I'm happy, particularly if la rocca can get on the park - malik might not have got a game anyway

Troisi is the one at Victory who sidelined with the balance issue isnt he?

I believe United are trying to get Troisi home. I know he wanted to get back here a few years back but for one reason or another United let Victory come in and pinch him on loan. I'm a Juventus member and get the weekly email etc and I havnt heard of him being released yet but maybe he will come out on loan or maybe he will be cut in January.
As for Cornthwaite he is hardly setting the world on fire in a third rate league currently. The Malaysian super league is utter rubbish, I'd be wary of taking him back

Looks like Malik and Williams deal has thankfully gone cold. I'm hoping this means the Reds and looking for a better striker option whilst keeping a good local defender.

Yeah, the Glory are unlucky - Goodwin's touch was way too heavy. Should have just been a yellow card.

Jesus Christ we made it hard for ourselves. We actually looked like we were the ones playing with ten for most of that second half.

Still thought Adelaide had control of the match apart from the last 15-20 and the overall stats probably show a fair result was achieved. If they land a decent striker in the transfer window they should cause a few troubles. Doubt our depth is good enough to cause and serious threat however...
