SALLEY SIGNS TWO YEAR DEAL WITH UNITED
Tuesday, 13 March, 2007 - 6:03PM

Former New Zealand Knights midfielder Jonas Salley has officially signed with Adelaide United FC for the next two seasons. Ivory Coast born Salley brings speed and tenacity to the Adelaide United midfield and is a welcome addition to coach Aurelio Vidmar’s squad.

With the addition of former Socceroo’s striker Paul Agostino and the re-signings of Bobby Petta, Jason Spagnuolo and Dez Giraldi, United have been proactive in assembling a squad for the Hyundai A-League’s Version 3.

“I played two games in Adelaide against The Reds last season and I loved the stadium and the crowd and I look forward to putting on the red shirt of Adelaide United,” Salley said.

“I’ve heard a lot about Aurelio Vidmar as a coach and the style he likes to play and I look forward to working with him in the new Hyundai A-League season.”

Salley will arrive in Adelaide to commence training with Adelaide in June.

He's a bloody good player and will play a holding role in midfield I guess, a bit like Aloisi but younger ;) He dominated against Adelaide a couple of times last season and will be a massive signing for us.

very talented, lacked disipline, but what do you expect at NZ, will be much better now he is at a more professional club, a very very good pick up.

I hear what you're saying though Sammy and I hope it's an area of vast improvement at United next season.
