If your team is in this one the only way is up. Divvy IV sides to suffer the drop last year Trades of Glory, Red Devils, One Point Kickers and Bold City Barras will find wins a little easier to come by in this league but The Jellyz and Strongy D's in particular are not easybeats and along with Fine Wines and Giants Legends these look the best bets for teams hoping to get into Division IV. Long time Hogg favourite (because he always loses) Brettsrazorbacks is back in the Hogg action but even Bretty can't undercut the mighty Strawb who hasn't won a match from the USA in the last two seasons. At this stage it's 18 teams with one autopilot side (Autopick Allstars) but watch this space.

This is the final field for Hogg Division V for the season. Only 16 teams with two of them being Bots so should be at least two wins there for everyone. No players in this league got to 50k last season but the Badgers could be the wild card here. Reckon Giants Legends could also be a promotion contender and relegated Trades of Glory has won the flag at this level before so they will be a contender. Surely it's time for HereComesTheSuns @CK to finally do something worth of rating a mention.

Divvy V had the honor of kicking off the Hogg Shield in 2025 and it was Cat fan Trades of Glory who cashed in with his Catters to record an excellent score as they trumped the Biege Man Badgers. Other sides to do well included Fine Wines who got the percentage booster over Razorbacks and HereComeTheSuns who took my advice and scored some points as they also got a percentage boost over a pathetic Plop. Quite a few lopsided results over the first round but the unluckiest loser may be the Red Devils. Autopick Allstars is set and forget so they are going to be tougher to play in the earlier rounds than later on in the season. Good news for carey though is that he gets another chance against them when the Allstars will no doubt be rolling out a bakery.

Cellar Dwellars opened their account for 2025 in fine style with a thumping 2067 which would see them salute in much higher company than Division V. Brett’s Razorbacks copped the shellacking to take a big lead in the mightyeags trophy for the worst team in the Hogg for 2025. Most of last week’s winners doubled up although Giants Legends were a notable exclusion as they no doubt had plenty of Giants in their lineup not available due to the Giants’ bye. Fine Wines still a top vintage after their 1978 and Bold City Barras are going swimmingly with a score over 1900 as well. Already the top teams are clearing out here but plenty of matches to go before we can call this comp.

Five unbeaten sides have snuck away from the park after three rounds with Cellar Dwellars looking pretty suave in sixth as well. There might not be many finals spots up for grabs soon so it was an important win for HereComesTheSuns who knocked of Hampstead Hawks and took their place in the top eight. Hanging on is Giants Legends who got back into the scoring habit but couldn’t catch the Barras. Most impressive side is Trades of Glory, a team that has won premierships at this level before (but stunk up the place in Divvy IV last year). Currently sitting in the top ten in the Hogg, Glory racked up 2009 to put some distance on the unlucky Allstars who scored well. At the arse end of the ladder we’ve got some stragglers already. Razorbacks remain anchored to the foot of the table even though Bretty found another hundred points, an effort which should see him hand the spoon to Plop so long as he can find another hundred. Whoever gets the match when Port has the bye will get a percentage bonanza.

A big week in Division V with plenty of the top sides playing against each other. It was Fine Wines and Trades of Glory who came out on top there but the big winner was Hampstead Hawks who chimed in with an impressive 2046 to account for an unlucky Giants Legends who were no slouches with their 1985. Beige Badgers clambered into the top eight as the Suns put in an absolute shocker while it was opportunity missed for Benno’s Beasts when they got rolled by the unmanned Autopick Allstars. Happy days for One Point Kickers and Red Devils who need more of the same to seriously challenge for the top eight. Silver Spud winners Giants Legends desperately unlucky not to salute this week and they’ll need to rewrite the script or lose touch early. Trades of Glory travelling beautifully, outscoring a lot of teams in higher divisions. They will be tough to beat this year.

It’s all glory for Trades as they were the last unbeaten side standing after five rounds. It was a brave effort from the Devils but they fell short and with other top sides having a stumble it left Morgs on his own on top. The Barras can be well satisfied with their gather round efforts when they got the better of highly rated Cellar Dwellers. Giants Legends, Biege Man Badgers and One Point Kickers also had a good week but previously unbeaten Fine Wines went down as Hampstead Hawks pulled off a second upset win. SKZ fell out of the top eight as the Autopick Allstars proved too much for the real cellar dwellers Razorbacks.

Trades of Glory continued it’s domination of the division when they spanked the winless Razorbacks by 500 points in a powerful display. Glory are unbeaten and the top scorer and looks a hot favourite to repeat their Division V premiership from three years ago. Fine Wines and Bold City Barras look the main opposition with Bold especially looking like they belong in the higher divisions where they once played as the Ingle Farm Felons. The eight looks reasonably well set but all is not lost for the chasing pack as Autopick Allstars look ready to fall out with (Sleeping?) Giants Legends the most likely to challenge but you couldn’t rule out the Kickers or the Hawks. For the other sides the finals appear beyond them already but PowerFailure will enjoy the rare win this week. Razorbacks finally got off the bottom and they’ll be looking forward to picking up the free win on offer when they play Port Plop.

Autopicks are finally out of the top eight after Giants Legends smashed top eight Cellar Dwellars to the tune of 229 points. The Giants were overdue and they could cause a bit of bother for the top sides if they ever find some consistency. The rest of the leading teams managed wins as they all snuck away from the chasing pack. Once again Glory were untroubled and obviously the team to beat in this division. The top four will be crucial for those teams hoping to go up to Division IV next year and it was SKZ who took advantage of Dwellars’ lapse with a convincing win over PowerFailure. Fine Wines has winning form but Glory’s main challenge looks likely to come from Bold City whose Barras are going swimmingly. Of the stragglers it was a big win for the Hawks who kept in touch with a narrow win in their eight point game against One Point Kickers.

Trades of Glory remain unbeaten in Division V but their dominance has now been officially challenged by Bold City Barras. The Barras went big with a thrashing of fellow top eight side SKZ while Glory struggled to reach the levels of scoring that they were churning out regularly earlier on the in the season. It remains to be seen whether this is the beginning of the end for Morgs or his spot at the top of the table is genuinely under threat. Fine Wines and Giants Legends both recorded very important wins as they fight for the double chance and finals spots respectively. PowerFailure were very unlucky not to end Glory’s unbeaten streak while Hampstead Hawks and One Point Kickers stayed in touch with the eight. It seems a race of ten here for this premiership so the bottom six not really in it but well done Red Devils for racking up a rare win and staying clear of the also rans at the foot of the table.

Glory remains unbeaten at the top of the table after facing down the challenge from Bold City Barras last weekend. A pretty comfortable win in the end by Morgs with the Barras well down from their best. No such problems for Fine Wines who held off the Badgers in a closer contest while Benno’s Beasts put a gap on Cellar Dwellers in the top four with an important win over an unlucky PowerFailure. The Badgers loss allowed Hampstead Hawks to climb back in to the eight after a surprisingly easy win over top eight SKZ. A couple of teams outside of the eight managed important wins with One Point Kickers, HereComesTheSuns and even Razorbacks getting the points. Razorbacks win means he avoids the spoon at the very least.

Glory won their 11th straight and put a gap on the rest this week as Fine Wines and Bold City Barras came to grief. Benno’s Beasts emerged as the fourth promotion candidate when they accounted for the Barras to give them a second straight loss against a fellow top four contender. Big scorers of the week where Giants Legends who racked up 2309 to smash the depleted Allstars combination while Red Devils made light work of Port Plop. One Point Kickers knocked off Fine Wines to take advantage of Hampsteads Hawks loss while PowerFailure claimed their first win for a while against Razorbacks. Next week Failure will be laughing as they play Port Plop when Port have their bye. Massive percentage booster on the way for Failure!

The bye rounds are usually when the top teams unexpectedly drop matches and Round 13 was no exception as the longest winning streak in the Hogg this season was snapped when Giants Legends knocked off top of the ladder Trades of Glory. This turned out to be a bit of a free pass for Glory who benefitted from defeats by the chasing pack in Benno’s Beasts and Fine Wines so their two game buffer remains despite the loss. One Point Kickers found themselves out of the eight following a defeat to the Beige boys as the Hawks from Hampstead got back in after thrashing Razorbacks. Move of the week this week was SKZ doing a Monday trade in of Jaicos which got Sadie the highest score in the league and a smashing of top four side Fine Wines. Red Devils and PowerFailure have had a bit of a mid-season resurgence and they matched up this week with the Devils marching on and the Power cut off.

Giants Legends look the most likely on scoring and after a recent win over Glory, Morgs would be hoping that the Giants miss out on the top four. Bold City Barras got the show back on the road in a week where several of the top teams had a bit of a misstep. SKZ remain in the hunt for a top four spot as well so Benno and Fine Wines still have some work to do to hang on to the double chance. Hampstead Hawks and One Point Kickers earned an invaluable four points in a week where the Beige boys and Red Devils dropped the ball. A crucial loss for both of those sides especially for the Devils who had been making a mid-season charge at the top eight.
