The good news for this league is that the number one seed has been promoted to Hogg Division II. Yes Underdogs are gone and The Ginger Ninjas have taken their place as the number six seed. This makes the new number one seed Chicken Twisties but he won't be reading this as he got himself banned the wally. Sarah's Dream Team makes her Hogg debut after plenty of beginner's luck (or so Gilligan says) saw Sarah post a respectable tally last season. Whether she can back it up remains to be seen. It's tough making the eight in a twenty team comp and with Trotters rated 10th it's fair to say it's going to be a tough ask to make finals for everyone. This league was tighter than a nun's nasty last year and looks that way again. Congrats to Brodlach and Son who have both reached this level after lurking in Divvy IV for years. There are no less than five ladies in this league so it's ladies night at the Palace Hotel Ballroom. JK should go deep into the finals but the reality is my team Pigs Arsenal will look forward to whaling on all of you. But no promotion for Pigs Arsenal on the off chance that actually happens. Top four go up and top four go down....ladies and gentlemen start your engines!

Division III kicked off in a rather subdued manner with the scoring not all that massive for the season opener. Killer Wombats racked up an impressive 1978 but the rest of the field couldn’t crack 1950 for the week. With two teams on the bye and not as many PODs in everyone’s teams, close matches were the order of the day. No less than five matches were decided by less than thirty points with the arseiest win going to Hawkers who managed to get the four points after only carding 1664 which was enough to get the chocolates against a flat Cider. Spare a thought for Fightin Ryan,Wizards Sleeves and Anytime Turtles who got a fair bit more than Hawkers but still have the Burger Ring in the W column. Now let’s all do a bit better this week eh?

Told you blokes the mighty Pigs would rampage this season and BEHOLD league leadership after two rounds of play. Blow the siren says I! Bragging it up while I can because last year Pigs stank up the place so it won’t last. It was the round of the comeback as a couple of teams that scored bugger all hit back with solid wins. Hawkers made it two from two but got amongst the points this week and they are sitting pretty in top four after being not ranked in the pre-season seedings. Cider also was back in town as they opened their account against minor round specialist the bont. King Cobwebs and Killer Wombats are looking strong already but the same can’t be said for Division III newcomers Brodlach and Brodlach jnr (Anytime Turtles) who have failed to flatter so far this season. The Cats are looking good for their second relegation in three years too going on early form.

Trotters and Persh FC have emerged as genuine contenders and candidates for promotion into Division II after the third round of Divvy III action. Trotters trotted up a large score to smash the beleaguered Brodlach Bombers who must be hankering for the good old days of soft Divvy IV kills about now. Persh FC also recorded a large victory at the expense of The Cats who are fast running out of lives even this early in the season. Top side Pigs had to hold off a strong challenge from Fightin’ Ryan in the end as Ryan lived up to their name but class won out in the end. Hawkers continued their unbeaten run and gradual improvement in scoring while Deep in Cider are doing the same after a poor opening round. Going ok nicely now the Ciders. Bont and Sarah recorded solid wins while Chicken Twisties continue to befuddle tipsters with their confusing form but Vamos will take the points I’m sure. Killer Wombats also up and about but Golden Fleece aren’t pulling the wool over anyone’s eyes with his low scoring win over a scratchy crabs combination. Scratchy crabs, most unpleasant in your golden fleece.

Mighty Pigs Arsenal stands alone on top of the ladder after Hawkers and Killer Wombats crashed to heavy defeats in the fourth round. It was The Cats who pulled off the big boilover knocking off the Wombats but a look at scoring shows that despite a good win -loss record, the Wombats aren’t scoring many points. It’s the same story for a few others as well. All of the bottom four scorers in this comp are in the top nine teams so some great defensive work going on ha ha. Brodlach and Son welcomed back their full compliment and belatedly joined the winning list and according to the Brodster it’s game on from now on. Persh FC has emerged as a genuine promotion threat as she can score points as well as win matches, something many of the other contenders can not. Chicken Twisities are flying again with Vamos (or whatever he’s called now) sitting unpretty in the top four. Fightin Ryan and The Ginger Ninjas also got vital wins to resurrect their flagging seasons.

Madeline is Pershed atop the ‘ladies league’ with a 5-1 record as they pummelled the hapless Ginger Ninjas by over 200 points in their lopsided encounter. It was a massive round of SuperCoach scoring last weekend but Divvy III appeared to have missed the memo as no teams racked up 2500 for the weekend. Those joining the league leader in reaching at least 2400 included the Trotters who won and Chicken Twisties who didn’t in what was a high quality clash. The Cats also got back to the good graces of the scoring gods while King Cobwebs justified their lofty ranking with a smashing of True North. The scoring is all over the place with winless Wizards outscoring teams who have been racking up wins. Those that aren’t winning or scoring are in danger with Brodlach in particular right in the gun, along with Golden Fleece who have somehow managed to bag a couple. Ginge on the nose as well.
