Round 1 - Here we go again

Richmond and Carlton tonight with Pickett, Butler, and that dude with three names who isn't Powell-Pepper all named. Marchbank on a halfback flank, Doc on the wing and Simpson in the back pocket all interesting selections. Smedts also named for his new club been reading some talk about him not sure why.

I reckon Doc might be a handy VC option for those that have him and I think Nank will be a popular pick with all the uncertainty in the rucks. Nank is going solo tonight but for how long? Maric omitted and Hampson not fit. He'd have good JS I reckon. Of course the round doesn't really begin until all teams are named so plenty of swaps and changes of non Tigers and Blues players to come.

regards,

REB

Managed to catch a bit of the JLT series so was able to see quite a few rookies in action. Will still lean to having Round 1 selected rookies in the side, but may yet keep someone like EVW in my team despite not being selected for Round 1.

Pretty confident in my DEF, MID, RUC setup, but geez it's slim pickings in the FWD line.

Could very well change but so far my team is:

3-0-5
5-1-5
1-1-1
2-2-4

I am concerned with the players that North want to introduce that they will not get enough games into them to be valid cash cows come the byes. Both EVW and Hibberd will share the workload I suspect and I think Preuss has better js.
Equally I am also contemplating picking Berry whether he is picked round 1 or not.
The Ruck still is of concern and my structure at this stage i:
DEF 3-1-4 The mid pricer I hope is a keeper
MID 4-2-5
RUC 1-1-1
FWD 3-1-4

I have gone:

3-0-5
5-1-5
1-1-1
3-1-4

With EVW not named, I am not sure what other Rookie options area available, unless you decide to include Marchbank, who only just sits in the rookie price bracket.

I've gone
2-2-4
3-5-3 (5 mid prices are Jobe, Omeara, Beams, Swallow, Sheed)
1-1-1
1-4-3 (mid prices are Petracc, Rough, Nank, Steele)

Think/know I have too many mid prices so hopefully this structure changes by tomorrow night.
Still have $550,000 so will definitely upgrade a couple, just waiting on teams to be announced first.

Ive gone

3-0-5
6-2-3
1-1-1
2-3-3

Left most of the expensive rookies alone, theres enough cheapies with js. A 200k player may rise to 400k if he's pretty good, i reckon theres more chance of a 120k player rising to 300k, same result.
Have taken big risks with returning imjured players, swallow JOM sandy Rough Hep and Beams as well as Kelly and Steele. It could be a wasted season within 3 weeks or ill be a genius.
I have one player who i reckon 99% of people have missed in the rookie range that i reckon will explode this year

Haha! Forgot how the loophole worked...

I decided to take the Bont's 120 as vc so i subbed my only non playing bencher on in Darcy and put Martin on the pine. Made Martin rhe emergency but forgot to make Darcy skipper...
Lwrs hope Danger goes well...
