Greetings folks. Some changes for the Hogg next year. There have been a few calls for a Hogg elite league and I reckon that’s a good idea. It will give our top eighteen coaches a chance to challenge the big boys.

Also, I’m going to get rid of the Bunny Bowl and double up teams because Division VI and the Bunny is nearly the same this year.

With the newbies they can take the dropouts’ place as we always get at least ten of them. Read on…

Hogg Shield Elite
Top eighteen ranked players (total points scored for the entire season)

Hogg Champions League
Premiers of all Hogg Leagues (10)
Runner up for HCL, HPL, Div I – Div VI

Hogg Premier League
Top sixteen teams on the ladder
Grand Finalists from Hogg Division I

Hogg Division I
3rd-16th ranked sides
Grand Finalists from Hogg Division II
Bottom two sides from Hogg Premier League

Hogg Division II
3rd-14th ranked sides
Preliminary Finalists from Hogg Division III
Bottom two sides from Hogg Division I

Hogg Division III
5th-14th ranked sides
Preliminary Finalists from Hogg Division IV
Bottom four sides from Hogg Division II

Hogg Division IV
5th-14th ranked sides
Preliminary Finalists from Hogg Division V
Bottom four sides Hogg Division III

Hogg Division V
5th-14th ranked sides
Preliminary Finalists from Hogg Division VI
Bottom four sides Hogg Division IV

Hogg Division VI
Bottom four sides from Hogg Division V
Bunny Bowl teams
Unpromoted Division VI teams

Hogg Division VII aka Hogg Interchange (if required)
For leftover teams
For unseeded new teams
For teams who missed the sign up deadline
Hogg VII teams earn seeded teams status for 2015
Hogg VII not eligble for HCL in 2015
Hogg VII eligble for Hogg Elite in 2015

New teams
New teams will need to prove their 2013 point score to be allocated a seeded ranking
New teams cannot enter the Hogg any higher than Division IV
New teams with a proven point score can be allocated into Divisions IV to VI based on their ability
New teams take the place of teams that drop out of the Hogg
Unseeded teams will enter the Hogg Interchange league

Drop outs
Teams can be promoted out of their starting position when a team above them drops out
Teams cannot be promoted from Division II to Hogg Premier
If Hogg Champions or Hogg Elite teams do not nominate the next highest point scorers get the invite
Teams cannot be relegated more than once if they join up before the signup deadline

Doubles
Next season there will be no doubles in the Hogg Shield (HCL or Hogg Elite excepted)
2013 Double up teams are not eligible for promotion or HCL or Hogg Elite
No Straycat Strut in 2014

Returning Players
Returning Players are considered new teams and must prove their 2013 score to be allocated a seeded ranking

Missing the signup deadline
If you miss the deadline you will be able to join Hogg VII right up to lockout

regards,

REB

Nice work REB.

With a bit of luck I'm hoping to be in the Elite League, Champions League and Hogg Div I next year. 8)

Had one player PM me to say 'sack the non players'. Not a bad idea.

agreed reb although relegation will keep them in the lower leagues, and could be hard to tell sometimes!

Dropping out for a year will be costly. A lower division awaits

Division IV so not too bad. Score well this year and you'll go Divvy IV. Score well next year and you could be back in Divvy I.

It's the non players in the higher grades that piss people off. It kills the league ranking something shocking. We had one in Hogg Premier last year and our ranking was rubbish.

I'm one of those try hards who goes for ranking glory sometimes at the expense of the league glory although this year I'm determined to go for both. So if I can make the elite league ill be happy to be able to try to help get the Hogg name up the league rankings.
