Hogg Rankings Thread 2012

With the (partial) Lock Out a mere three days away now it’s time for the Hogg Rankings Thread for this year. If you are a skipper of a league I will need the current score in points of all of your coaches plus the league ranking every round to update this thread. If your numbers aren’t in I won’t be posting your stats as I couldn’t be arsed chasing anyone up.

There will be two kinds of posts, posts about the league rankings and the Bragging Rights Bible the team rankings. Now that the leagues are all but finalised (barring a few late moves) it has been possible to work out what scores are expected of a coach in a certain grade based on 2011 scoring patterns.

2012 Pre-Season League Rankings

If you are in Division II and you are looking over your shoulder so you should be as there are still a lot of talented coaches in Division III who want your spot. Most of last year’s guns from Division IV have gone up one or more grades but the overall effect of the drop outs, new coaches and promotions appears to be minimal. The Division V stats are skewed because there are a lot of coaches in this league with minimal to no SC stats so they have been excluded from the averages. You’d expect them to overtake the league average of the Piglet Shield though at the very least.

If you are a Bunny Bowl coach a score of 1900 makes you a contender but you won’t get much change out of 2100 should you post that in the Champions league. Bunny Bowl invites have been sent out to the lowest scoring coaches. In case you are wondering how close you came to getting an invite to the Warren, the top ranked coach in the Bunny racked up 46308 points last season.

Great write ups REB, both here and inthe preview thread. looks like ill have to lift my game to meet the expected average score for Divvy III or it could be another long season floating around middle (or towards the bottom) of the table... right, now to look at my side for the first time in a month

Congratulations to Denver Crows who are Rocky Mountain High after Bouldering his way to the top of the rankings. Already there is a Grand Canyon between the Crows and bottom of the ladder iSwitch and in latest news Paramedics have been rushed out to Strawb's place as he is ahead of two other coaches in the Hogg this season. Clearly all that Tequila in the off season has done the trick.

Anything over 2100 is a good effort and 2000-2099 is par and below 2000 you've got some work to do. It's on again peoples!

The divisions seem to be relative to the scores aswell.

Cheers mate. If anyone wants a fixture for their league PM me and I'll email you a copy. So far I've only done a fixture for Piglet, Champions and Premier but once you do one fixture it's edit/replace from there. The only fixture I can't make is Divvy II.

After looking at this week's league rankings all of a sudden I'm not feeling too bad about my mediocre league standings. You people are getting pretty good at this game. The Hogg has two leagues in the top 100 which is unprecedented. Division III's effort is absolutley huge to crack top 1000 and the Piglet Shield is three thousand up from last year which was up four thousand from the year before.

If you are a Champions league coach there aren't that many ahead of you and if you are in the Bunny Bowl you are ahead of thousands of leagues. An impressive start to the Hogg Sheild although history has shown us that we struggle to maintain our early season league rankings.

Green League has improved ranking
Red League's ranking has dropped

While the top leagues struggled Division V, the division that got thrown together during the last hectic days before the lockout - had the best week of all the Hogg leagues. Division V's ranking went up nearly 3500 in an amazing performance. The big disappointment so far has to be Division I which led all comers last season but late withdrawals from Hogg Premier has robbed Division I of some of last year's biggest scorers and the new arrivals haven't fired as yet.

Most of the Leagues in the Hogg rebounded strongly after a poor showing in the second round but Division V couldn't maintain their excellent form from last week. Hogg Champions doing very well to make up some lost ground on many top leagues but the league punching below their weight is clearly Division II who is not only behind Division III but IV and V as well. Lift your game you blokes!

whufc's fantastic run of form has seen him take over from Stazza as the number one coach in the Hogg this season and he must be pinching himself so far this season after not scaling these heights previously. We have a 'switch' at the bottom as well as iSwitCh has improved her team each week and her first victim is Thiele Crows the new caboose and Strawb is in iSwitCh's sights.

The top female coach is FNQ Trotter ranked 6 and the top child player is Bunnyhop (9 years old) who have scored 6293, seven points ahead of his brother and another 50 to the good of Alaska Jnr. In case you are wondering who is helping the Bunny hop up the rankings it aint me as I'm too busy compiling this sort of stuff. In fact I plan to ask him for some advice pretty soon if my current rate of scoring doesn't improve.

LOL, I let my 6yo son & 9yo daughter take up the last spot in one of the leagues I'm in, they knocked off the top ranked player and scored way more than me.
My 6yo spent 5 hours going through all the fantasy freak NAB Cup form pages I had highlighting players that he wanted in his side, he didn't just pick all the guns either, he worked out the best cheapo's.
