i thnk the fact that there is a whole board dedicated here to fantasy football, and that there are many sites dedicated soley to fantasy football says that there are a great many people that do enjoy it.

it will only be as complicated as you let it be. if you just pick a side of players you like and compete against people you dont know just for fun it can add a different side to watching afl games. you dont care who wins, aas long as "your players" do well.

where it gets more complicated IMHO, is when you are playing against people you know. (workmates, fellow forumites, friends etc) you start doing more research to try to get that edge, all to get the bragging rights monday morning. this is where i am at now, i want to be good (but i am average...) so to beat the best i have to do the research, find those underpriced players, and get the best scores. it is still fun, but it takes a lot more time to be competitive (unless you are insanely lucky)

tomorrow i think. (supercoach at least) not sure about dream team but i assume that it will be the same or very soon after.
