Round 12 - Teams, Trades & Discussion

I'd been looking forward to this round because Port have the bye and because they have no players worthy of being in my SuperCoach team, I'd finally have the chance of fielding a full strength and most awesome side! I reckon most of you thought you'd be in the same boat (except for those foolish enough to chuck a Powder Puff into their first 22), but alas, it is not to be!
No Franklin, Sandilands, Swan. Watson? Will Chapman play? It's a cruel game sometimes.
This round probably marks the end of the trading frenzy we've embarked upon in recent weeks. Time to put the gun back in it's holster.

I think it's time to upgrade Duigan.
Want to bring in Delidio but there is no good backline downgrade targets.
I'm 5000-something overall and going strong.
Might just wait a few weeks and let the side settle.
With Smith going so well, and Petrie ok it might even be worth culling Sandi to free up some $$

Apart from a few downgrades I've gone pretty easy on the trading so far. Now I have money in the bank and trades up my sleeve so I'm looking to upgrade a few players in the next few weeks. First cab off the rank is either Darling or Krakouer making way for Pavlich. Which ever one I keep will probably end up being my 8th forward. Leaning towards keeping Krakouer at the moment, mainly because of the flexibility the MPP gives. Harris to Mundy is pencilled in as my second trade for this week.

2 more upgrades with my spare cash and then I am sitting tight for a few weeks, barring injuries.

I was thinking of making Darling into Fyfe, but worried about the 3 team bye that Fremantle are involved in (Sydney or Richmond???) Would mean 3 players down in the forward line.
Might hold tight for a couple weeks, brought Broughton in last week, was a good move, Adcock 2 weeks ago which is hurting with 40 and 60 in the last couple weeks.
Swan missing hurts, but thinking Hibberd has been performing well so will be an adequate replacement.
Ranked 988 overall now, chasing the top pack and 3rd in the Hogg overall. Might bide my time for a little bit.

Never mind that. Division VI is the big ticket item!

THE BRISBANE Lions' horror injury run has continued with defender Daniel Merrett ruled out for up to 10 weeks with a fracture in his back.

It will be a bye in the head to heads mate.

Going to keep my finger off the trigger even though i will be without Sandi, Franklin and Swan and possibly Chapman! going to be another poor week for me!
The last 2 weeks i have done 2 upgrades with Libba > Boyd and Tapscott > Franklin and have scored below my average on both occasions!
think ill just ride it out and the trigger finger will return in approximately 6 weeks

Debating whether to trade Sandilands out. Have managed to get away with him on my bench the last couple of weeks with Smith scoring well and Jackson Trengove being serviceable, however Port have the bye this week so I would be relying on Moran to come and fill the void. If Moran gets picked, I might take that risk and just leave as is. Also thinking about the double swap of Sandilands for a decent ruckman and Trengove to a cheapie and free up some cash for other areas. Hesitant to touch any of the 14 trades left at this stage though. Who'd have thought one of Sandilands' giant toes would cause such grief!

Do you know what's wrong with him Q-Man?
I saw a replay of his pea-hearted tackling effort against Leon Davis last night. MonTAGna needs to pull his finger out.

literally 15 second into the match Clinton Jones fell on his leg and it looked like a hyper extension

Sandilands > Cox
Trengove > Vardy
12 trades is good at this stage. With money in the bank you can make some upgrades to Collingwood and St Kilda players after their byes.
Although, bear in mind that Sandilands has said he'll be back for the Brisbane game.

Nasty. Still...you don't tackle with your knees

Yep, knee injury, likely just to miss the one game.

My next two league games are against teams above me on the ladder so will need all the points I can get which has me leaning towards your suggestion.

Did he? That's crucial news for me. This is not to doubt you at all but where did you hear this? I have some others to tell and they'll ask for a source because that changes things a fair bit.
I was resigning myself to his comeback being round 15 as per the latest injury list but then was worried that he would rest that game too as Freo have the bye the following week.
