Have a ton of cash in the bank so will be chewing up some trades in the next few weeks.

12 left.
Have finished mids & fwds.

4 to complete def upgrades
2 for unexpected injuries.
6 for finals.

Have 12 left, and about 150K in the bank...

Probably only going to work the byes for the next few weeks, make sure I have the right fellas on the field, and the right players as emergencies...

I've well and truly stuffed it this year, dead last in divvy 6

But finally I'm in a spot where I've got a whole team on the park without donuts, and I'm not dependant on one club (where a bye could really hurt me)...

Ablett, Judd, Swan, Kerr, Deledio, in the Mids are doing me alright (Hawthorns Smith being adequate to cover Deledio this Rd)
A power packed fwd line, Riewoldt x 2, Kennedy, Franklin, Boomer, Stevie J... Got Krakeour (The Collingwood Varietal) as a benchie, and he's in for The Jack this weekend, and Krak's is my worst performing player (as far as averages go) on the field this week...

Got blokes like Heppell, Rawlings, Goddard, in the backs, but the rest of them are 60-90 point players, so if I trade, it'll likely be to get some better defenders...

Love the explanations ha ha. Very good. I have used more trades than I would have liked 12 left. ******* Higgins and ******* Chapman. Everytime I don't get on Chapman he racks up massive scores and soon as I select him he gets injured and yep it's happened again.

I ended up picking Swan too late and burnt Kieran Jack to do it that was a dodgy trade that turned out OK cos Jack got hurt. I brought in Isaac Smith thinking the Hawks were going to go small with Roughy in the ruck but Q turned out to be right about him having shithouse job security.

My backline still sucks ass but my mids and forwards aren't too bad.

One more midfield upgrade to make to compliment Pendlebury, Mundy, Boyd, J Selwood & S Thompson.

One more forward upgrade to make, but happy for either Krakouer or Darling to fill F7 for the moment.

Two more defensive upgrades to make, although if Lower continues to play as a midfielder in Freo's line-up I'll consider him a keeper.

Will be happy with 4-6 trades in the bank come finals time.

I think I'll sit tight on the trades (barring injury) until Collingwood and Saints have had their second bye (enter Shaw or Fisher!).

Possibly 1 mid upgrade (Burgoyne is giving me the shits)

Probably should squeeze in 1 forward upgrade also.

Want to do one more upgrade in either the backs or the forwards, will prolly get the cash to do so by downgrading Fraser to the new Geelong Ruckman.

Will leave me with 9 trades and will basically save them for finals and LTIs.

Pretty much in the same boat there Q. Need one more midfielder to add to pendlebury, judd, bartel, selwood and thomspon. Backline is suspect at the moment but have to hang tough till a few more byes have passed (yes fisher is on the radar for me too)

Forwards im happy with darling as F7 for now and will sit tight until the obvious upgrade comes along.

I have only 10 left and $200K which I plan to use on 2 upgrades. Broughton and Rioli are going too fast for my liking today though!

Then I will sit tight for a while I expect. That would leave me with everyone upgraded bar Heppell, Lower and one of Knights and Krakouer.

It's about 2 trades less than I would like. I lost one on Watson's injury and made an early stuff up by trading in Otten after round 2. That was a rash and bad decision in hindsight.

One upgrade to do in the midfield, that pushes Pav to the Fwds.
Happy after that with only one fwd spot to think about.
I was going to do Thompson next week anyway so price may come down.

here is where most of my work will need to come, tossing up whether heppell and lower are both keepers or not... Will be looking at some options here over the next few weeks... Plenty of MID links

Mids - pendles, Boyd, Judd, J selwood, Thompson, D Swallow (mzungu, Harris, hibberd)
1 more premium to come next week, haven't looked at who just yet, mzungu my FWD link and hibberd my DEF link

Rucks - Cox, Sandilands (Smith, J Tippett)
with Sandi out and Smith doing very nicely I'm looking at sacking the big man to free up some cash. BIG decision but a gamble I'm ready to take... Tippett my FWD link

Fwds - Stevie J, J Reiwoldt, N Reiwoldt, Franklin, Pavlich, Fyfe, Petrie (Darling, Matera, Mckernan)
relatively happy with the FWDs at the moment, benchies can score so not looking at upgrades, maybe downgrading though, petrie the FWD and Pav and Fyfe the MID links.

Only issue is my FWD and MID links are the same side so they aren't gonna help me too much...

Will be leaving at least 6 trades for finals so 4 more upgrades is the max. I reckon 3 will do me for now though so I'll save some for injuries...

Relatively healthy position, however, would like more cash in the bank...

This is the crucial time of the season trade wise I find.

Those in contention for the $50K will keep trading hard and hope for luck later in the year

Others who aren't in contention but hold out hope still will keep burning trades and will likely crash and burn

Others will sit back for a bit and come back harder closer to finals.

I think the upgrading bug can kick in and some coaches start looking to build the perfect upgraded 22 team and burn unnecessary trades about this time of the season. My advice is if you have players in FWD or DEF who are averaging > 80 then just hang onto them for now. That said, don't leave too many trades in hand and consequently too many non-upgraded players in your team because you may not even make your league finals.

I think you can trade too hard and trade too slow. There's a balance.

Swan at a juicy price. Will hold that final midfield trade for when he returns from Arizona!
