And this is the Carlton side that has no passengers? Richmond will go right by them in a few years but not tomorrow night. The Blues look an ordinary unit with no Kruezer that's for sure.

No tuck for the opening round again. Good too see Garlett rucking, Hampson on the ball and Murphy centre half forward. Good work Carlton.

Richmond will win this. Good too see some young fellas debut in conca and West Adelaides brad helbig

Duigan, Conca, Helbig & Batchelor all getting a shot.

Irons has been upgraded from the rookie list and is a chance of a debut alongside other PA rookie hopefuls Pittard & O'Shea.

Gratuitous Rumours: Yarran in doubt for tomorrow night & word is that Harris (GCS) is under an injury cloud.

FF's Monty reckons Harris has hurt his back, but there has been little news coming out of the GCS camp.

I think I read the Yarran rumour posted by some nuff-nuff on TS.

Sucks big time. I daresay most of us will get burnt by the sub at least once this year.

Speaking of the sub rule and it's impact on a player's score, I'm getting seriously cold feet on Andy Otten. Has been in my side from day one, but I'm soooo close to turfing him after Craig's recent comments.

I think he is good value for his price, Craigy is just throwing other teams off the scent

He states that he has possibly hurt his back, but still has him in his dreamteam side!

On Otten my feet were getting colder and colder the closer we got to round 1. It seemed 50-50 if he would even make the round 1 side after an average pre-season. Then Craigy's comments came out and I jumped off!

So let me get this right, you have a bloke who you are gonna limit your ability to capitalise on his versatility by making him the sub just so when you want to sub someone off, you can replace them in any position with otten?

Why not just have Otten in the 21, then when you do the swap, if the guy coming on doesn't match the guy going off, otten just swings around then?

Seems simple to me, but then again we all know Craig hates having to change anything on game day, the thought of doing a sub and moving otten at the same time prolly is way too complicated for the old codger.

Stuff it, I'm keeping him!

He didn't say OTTEN was going to be the sub, just that he and STEVENS were perfect for the role. Will have to wait and see I guess ...

If a Carlton or Richmond player is selected for Captain, Vice-Captain, or Emergency, that selection will remain locked. However, you may make changes to players from other teams on Friday before full lockout.
