Round 12 Trades and Discussion

As Goddard stamps his authority, is anyone considering moving Ablett away from the Captaincy against the Bombers this week?
Im reluctant to make a big change in captaincy, even tho iv considered it, because soon as i do it, Ablett will post a 180+.
Any injuries this week to change sides? When is kennelly back for the swannies?
Young Gysberts looks like the main one to bring into your side since he is on the bubble as a midfielder!

I reckon I will sit tight this week. I don't have the right player to downgrade to Gysberts and so I'm not ready to upgrade anyone else.
Now my midfield is all upgraded it takes the heat off the other positions.
Just have to hope another good rookie turns up because Gysberts looks good.

Also, in one of my leagues on the weekend, a game was drawn 2148 a piece! Anyone seen many other draws before?

Lots of speculation regarding Ablett spending more and more time up forward (and, as a result, hurting his scores). Seriously considering Goddard as captain.

Really? Have not heard anything about that! Giving him a bit of a mid season break to have him peak come finals time?? Luke Hodge may be the go for me, or Goddard/Barlow! Barlow is as good as any now!

I had a draw in DT a couple of weeks ago with Hazbeen in our Adelaide Plains League. First time I had seen one happen. With the log jam at the top of our league I actually think its a good thing cause now % won't come into the equation for me.

Brought him in last week, he looks to be handy, but as previously mentioned, Bailey has alot of young guys and will 'rest' them regardless of form.
Seriously contemplating Goddard as captain.
But on the other hand, Ablett has only let me down once all year, pretty good return if you ask me.

Also one more question, maybe REB is the man to answer this.
Goddard has moved to $682,800 and Ablett down to $669,900, when was the last time Ablett was not the most expensive player??

Have resisted the temptation to make Goddard captain for 1 reason only: Everytime I do something like that the player gets injured and I have $$ at good odd's on BG for the Brownlow

I think Judd was more expensive than Ablett back in 2007. Juddy was the SC king and then Ablett took off and has remained pretty constant ever since. I've been burnt every time removing Gazza from the captaincy but this week it seems a fair bet with Mooney and Hawkins out.
With Geelong up against the Bombers I reckon we'll elect to 'go small' and Ablett is a key component of the smaller forward line set up. The Bombers don't have all that much midfield depth so the Cats might opt to use Gazza up front a fair bit for next week's match.

REB

Cheers mate! Been a while thats for sure. The gap should widen this week and Goddard could end up being the most expensive player for next year!

I reckon Dane Swan was briefly priced higher that Ablett late last season. Ablett had a few quieter games and Swan was on the end of a huge run.

What is wrong with Enright & Maguire?
I have the unluckiest streak of trading IN players that are on a streak then get injured when I bring them in.
Gram, Enright, Krakeour, Dangerfield etc
