Dream team is done specifically on statistics.
Supercoach is done with champion data, based on how players use the ball, whether their possessions are under the pump and influence on the game etc.

It's generally pretty close to the dream team scores, although sometimes it does vary wildly, only sometimes.
Disposal efficiency is also a factor, which is why Nason's 49 or so turns into 35.

same as warnock's higher score in dream team came to bugger all in supercoach. Because he butchered everything all night.

As said, one of the differences is including disposal efficiency into the score. So the long and accurate kickers like Josh Drummond, Shannon Hurn score higher in SC. Defenders in general are more rewarded in SC scores.
On the other hand, players like Kane Cornes who butcher the ball a bit can have a high DT but lower SC (as I learned the hard way last season).
Then there's momentum scaling so a clutch goal to win the game scores better than a goal in the last quarter when you are 10 goals up already.
Also, in SC they allocated exactly 3300 points between the 2 teams every game. So a higher possession game doesn't distort the scores versus a lower possession game in the rain, for example. I think DT just lets the stats add up to whatever score it adds up to.
There's a lot more to it than that apparently, they are just some examples.
