FOOTY LEDGENS (Cub, Qld)
goodwood sharks (Sprio, Vic)
Jacks' Stars (Jacki, SA)
Kiwi Crappers (Brad, SA)
Leisa's Lovelies (Leisa, Qld)

The Ginger Ninjas (Gingernuts, safooty.net)
The Underdogs (Gibbo, Qld)
Underbelly (Kelly, SA)
z ? (Billy, SA)

This Piglet Shield thread might be one for lurkers who might not post all that often on this site. If they aren't related to me, they are pretty close mates so a fairly exclusive league. Every year the Piglet is ranked a little lower which is good news for anyone in Div V or VI who want to play in a higher grade next season. It's also the hardest league to organise as slackness in an inherent REB family trait!

ROUND ONE
League Rank 17246

1 REBCats 2356
2 The Underdogs 2349
3 Leisa's Lovelies 2186
4 FOOTYLEDGENS 2140
5 The Ginger Ninjas 2052
6 goodwood sharks 2011
7 FNQTrotters 1967
8 Jacks Stars 1898
9 cobras 1793
10 Kiwi Krapper's 1726
11 Boontime 1595
12 Underbelly 1559
13 drexelpower 1460
14 Damage Inc 1412
15 the best team ever 1398
16 THE BOBLETS 1322

More than a few clueless newbs in this league with a couple of coaches off the rookie list holding up the rest of the ladder as well as a few Rugby fans and assorted perennial SC failures. This does not apply to Gibbo who's Underdogs are giving a yelp! See above for the reason why the Piglet is normally ranked the bottom league in the Hogg. Divvy V and Divvy VI coaches will be in the overtaking lane next year.

True but one person may not take it as seriously as the next. I barely have time to scrape together the rabble representing me now, let alone researching/trading/recruiting......

Ah that's what the piglet is all about. There should be one coach you want to beat though. ;) He'll never let you live it done if he beats you.

ROUND THREE
League Rank 17992

1 The Underdogs 6746
2 REBCats 6463
3 FOOTYLEDGENS 6312
4 The Ginger Ninjas 6117
5 Leisa's Lovelies 6096
6 goodwood sharks 6055
7 FNQTrotters 5981
8 Jacks Stars 5568

9 Kiwi Krapper's 5309
10 cobras 5249
11 Boontime 4906
12 Underbelly 4858
13 drexelpower 4783
14 THE BOBLETS 4553
15 Damage Inc 4496
16 the best team ever 4274

The Underdogs are on fire in the early rounds of the season but Gingernuts has pulled a pretty good week and has stormed into consideration. Don't look now but he's starting to look like a Premier League coach! Kiwi Krappers and Underbelly also had better weeks and Dale's cobras look a long way short of his efforts last year which probably has a lot to do with the current crumminess of his beloved Blues.

Division IV Round 1

The Ginger Ninjas vs  drexelpower
Underbelly vs  REBCats
Jacks Stars vs  cobras
the best team ever vs  FNQTrotters
Damage Inc vs  Kiwi Krapper's
The Underdogs vs  Leisa's Lovelies
goodwood sharks vs  FOOTYLEDGENS
Boontime vs  THE BOBLETS

The match of the round in the Piglet is Leisa's 'I'm not picking Ablett' Lovelies vs. Gibbo Underdogs. Both sides have been hit by the loss of Riewoldt but the Lovelies have a problem in the backline with an out of form Thornton being omitted by the Blues. The Underdogs have that stock defence of Maguire, Waters and Malceski that has been most lucrative for any coaches lucky enough to have selected all three at the start of the year. The Underdogs should start the season off with a win. In another match in Divvy IV, it is the Booney derby as Boon and Boon Jnr face off to start the season. What better way to begin your SC career by knocking off the old man. Booney should prevail after spending more time on research in this game than he will for the rest of the season.

ROUND 1

There was an improved performance for most Piglet Shield coaches with the exception of Leisa's Lovelies who were well beaten in the end by the Underdogs. The FNQ Trotters are a surprise leader after the first round after they walloped the best team ever. The match between the Krappers and Damage Inc was a surprisingly high scoring affair given their NAB cup form and the Krappers did well to notch up a victory.

Division IV Round 2

The Ginger Ninjas vs Underbelly
drexelpower vs REBCats
Jacks Stars vs the best team ever
cobras vs FNQTrotters
Damage Inc vs The Underdogs
Kiwi Krapper's vs Leisa's Lovelies
goodwood sharks vs Boontime
FOOTYLEDGENS vs THE BOBLETS

Tough call for the match of the round in the Piglet this week as last weeks winners take on last week's losers. Leaning towards the Krappers and the Lovelies here with the Kiwi a silly chance of maintaining his hold on a top eight spot. The Port derby between Boony and The Golden Greek should be a beauty and it's a match that should see the sharks open their account. So far it looks like another round of one sided matches with FNQ Trotters the surprise early leader.

Round 2 Results

The Ginger Ninjas 2,131 def 2,051 Underbelly
drexelpower 1,546 def by 2,218 REBCats
Jacks Stars 2,199 def 1,527 the best team ever
cobras 1,823 def by 2,240 FNQTrotters
Damage Inc 1,827 def by 2,281 The Underdogs
Kiwi Krapper's 2,127 def 2,120 Leisa's Lovelies
goodwood sharks 2,109 def 1,840 Boontime
FOOTYLEDGENS 2,253 def 1,610 THE BOBLETS

The Piglet is a fairly lopsided comp with seven coaches looking like they will make the finals with maybe two or three others fighting for that last spot. Full marks to SC rookie Underbelly who scored her first 2k score and the Krappers had a heartstopper against the Lovelies winning by 7 points. Once again the Underdogs topped the Piglet making short work of Brennys Damage Inc who are already looking decidely damaged. Boony had a slight improvment but didn't get near the sharks and the FNQ Trotters remain atop the ladder.

Division IV Round 3

The Ginger Ninjas vs  REBCats
drexelpower vs  Underbelly
Jacks Stars vs  FNQTrotters
cobras vs  the best team ever
Damage Inc vs  Leisa's Lovelies
Kiwi Krapper's vs  The Underdogs
goodwood sharks vs  THE BOBLETS
FOOTYLEDGENS vs  Boontime

In the Piglet this year we have seen seven teams off to a flyer in this lop sided division. Two matches that have two of the better sides up against each other include the match of the round between FNQ Trotters and Jacks Stars. This game will be impossible to tip as they have scored almost the same amount of points as each other this season and have both cleaned up the best team ever and cobras respectively. In the other big match The Ginger Ninjas will be hoping to reverse a poor recent record against the REBCats. He won't get a better chance than this week due to the Cats non performing midfield.

The Kiwi Krapper's have slain the Dragon with a sensational upset win in the Piglet Shield. The Krapper's are doing very well in their debut season and now look fairly comfortable inside the top four. Jacks Stars are the new ladder leader after winning their top of the table clash with the Trotters and The Ginger Ninjas recorded their first ever win over the REBCats.

Division IV Round 4

The Ginger Ninjas vs Jacks Stars
drexelpower vs cobras
Underbelly vs the best team ever
REBCats vs FNQTrotters
Damage Inc vs goodwood sharks
Kiwi Krapper's vs FOOTYLEDGENS
The Underdogs vs Boontime
Leisa's Lovelies vs THE BOBLETS

This week is Gingernuts' key clash in Division IV as he seeks revenge for last year's loss to Mrs Ginge, Jacks Stars. Never mind winning the Piglet or even Hogg Premier - this is the match that Gingernuts wants to win or that will make it two years in a row that he has been owned by his Missus. The pressure is on in the Nuts' household!

Another big clash in the Piglet this week is between the Krapper's and FOOTYLEDGENS with the Kiwi making a suprisingly good start to his Hogg career. With a brilliant victory over the mighty Underdogs last week all of a sudden the Krapper's are looking a possible promotion chance.

Lost by 20 points to the missus. Even swung a double trade for Montagna in a desperate attempt to get me over the line and he serves up a pultry 74 points. Grrrrr.
