That is what I was thinking. 3k under 500k is a bit to much, would have a bit more tasty if they had him as a MPP.

Has anyone heard much from the dogs camp re: tom liberatore? the scouts raved about him during the 18's championships and he looks alright....reckon he is a chance at playing much or still a few years away?

The Dogs do seem to take a while to blood their players. So he may not get a gig straight away.

First up impressions:

• MPP’s become more important with the byes, but do they over-rule the rules when drafting of best available player?
• Number of players from the same team in each category needs to be minimised due to the byes.
• There do not seem to be as many hidden diamonds (LTI’s and club changers) to take risks on.
• A feast of new talent this year that looks like playing in their first season.
• We will not get as much information from the NAB cup due to format changes on changed roles e.g. Sweepers and Taggers.

A few I'm looking at include Andy Otten and Brodie Martin from the Crows. Also like the look of Robert Campbell from the Hawks is dirt cheap. Melb only had one ruckman last year so I suspect he might get a gig too.

Glad I read that in time, he was on my early bench. Poor kid, looked the sort who would grab his opportunity with both hands when he gets it.

Agreed. An astonishing price for him. Can think of a dozen others that are way better value. Really would have to have the season of his life to hold that value, and at his age, a big risk.

What about round 6 and the Haw, Frem and Geel forwards on the bye at once? No issue for league teams but for those of us wanting to rank highly for promotion or whatever what are the thoughts about Chapman, Pavlich, Rioli & Franklin who would otherwise be popular picks. Remember too that other positions will be affected as those 3 teams are popular for fantasy teams. Sandilands, Hodge, Selwood, Enright, Broughton.

I am trying to limit my exposure in this round to no more than 4 players and 3 would be better.

Good point mate. I guess it simply comes down to, a) do you want to win league games or b) finish as high as possible?

Not only those players, but bench players in Smith may be affected that round, thats one kid i picked up straight away.

Many people will rather the league results. I will probably be trying to finish as high in the rankings as possible this year.

Previously I have tried to rank as high as I can without sacrificing the league win because I believe the team you build to rank high is good enough to win finals anyway so long as you leave some trades spare. So I will never win the $50K because those guys blow out their trades with 3-4 rounds to go! I don't want to do that because I enjoy the finals time and I want those trades up my sleeve.

So, yes, I will be trying to manage the byes so the teams only wanting to win the league will have an advantage over me early on. By the end however we will be past the multi-bye rounds and so it should be no advantage.

Right now however round 6 is causing me some stress!

I'm attempting to juggle both those agendas in my team too, but feel that I will eventually make league wins a priority when finalising my team.

I'm screwed already...way too busy balancing my SA Footy, Fantasy EPL League side to try and maintain my lofty position as league leader, to even worry about scouting for this one.....

Pick Andrew Krakoeur and every SANFL player playing their first season and you are half way there.
