Divison I Round 9

Leisa's Lovelies vs Matty's Knights
Supre Cil Dluohs vs Blue Boy
Captain Who? vs PicklesPA
Hondominators YSCC vs wycbloods
cobras vs Woodys Dropkick
Mosquitoes vs Dutchys Dodos
The Browns vs LKIF
The Dark Knights vs CoverKing's Army

CoverKing and The Dark Knights square off in the all top four match of the round in Division I this week. The Knights dropped a match to LKIF this week and will pay the price by losing his top four spot when he gets rolled by CoverKing. With Supres playing the lowly Blue Boy the Knights will be out of the four come round 10.

A month ago it was wycbloods flying high and Hondominators sitting on a burger ring in the W column but since then the bloods have gone south while Hondo has won his last four and raced into the top 8. I'm tiping a back to the future result here by selecing wycbloods for the win. Despite not winning matches bloods has still been scoring well. Hondo has as well and this one will be close.

Another team that has not been winning matches despite scoring well is the Mozzies who are starting to run out of chances to make the eight. A win over Dutchy the Improved One would keep the Mozzie repellent extinghished for another week but I reckon Dutchy can get up and keep the heat on for a possible top four spot. Dutchy has gone on from no hoper status a year ago to a possible Hogg Premier spot. He's the James Podsiadly of the Hogg Shield!

The other matches that look close are the match between Leisa's Lovelies v Matty's Knights and the Browns vs. LKIF clash. The Lovelies have returned to her normal roosting spot of mid table in Division I and will be keen to stay there at Matty's expense. LKIF had a top win last week but I reckon they can't follow it up and the Browns will return to the winners list.

In the other games I see absolute destroyations in favour of Woody and especially Captain Who?

Im making no trades this week and hoping i get over the line at this stage! Could have made a money trade with Higgins to Gysberts, or even Jetta to Gysberts, but im hoping to pull through this week, and maybe next week, with 2 wins and no trades burnt. That will leave me with 9 trades and 5 weeks to go which il be happy with!

I held fire on the trades too. Agonised today over a couple of options but left all of them including Gysberts. wcybloods and I look pretty evenly match as is so I could have guaranteed a win probably but would have dropped too low on trades.

You will be stoked if u get up and still have the 2 trades left. Im hoping Matty Knights has a stinker and i get up without using a trade! Griffiths and Henderson two players to be on the bubble next week that i remember. Hopefully Gysberts pulls out this week so we can get on his train when he comes back into the side Hondo ;)

ROUND 9

Results

Matty's Knights 2,237 Lovelies 2,140
Supre Cil Dlouhs 2,112 Blue 1,899
Captain Who? 2,478 Pickles 1,319
Hondominators YSCC 2,331 wycbloods 2,220
Woodys Dropkick 2,411 cobras 1,745
Mosquitoes 2,403 Dutchys 2,274
LKIF 2,262 Browns 2,210
The Dark Knights 2,252 CoverKing 2,133

OUCH! CoverKing came down with a servere case of donutitis as the late withdrawals of several players hurt him badly. Dark Knights said 'thank you very much' and swooped on the weakened CoverKing to send him tumbling to third on the ladder. Supre must be wondering what he has to do to get into the top four as he now sits at 7-2 but incredibly he is in 5th place on the ladder!

Hondo continued his revival with wycbloods again scoring well and getting beaten. If bloods is feeling hard done by perhaps he could look to the 'against' figures for the Mosquitoes who have been copping an even worse run of luck than he. Speaking of luck, Dutchy will have to look it up in the Dictionary after scoring 50 more points than bloods and still getting rolled by the Mozzies who remain a genuine dark horse. There would be top four teams in this division that should be hoping that the Mozzies miss the eight.

Another team who has flown under the radar is LKIF who racked up another victory and has climbed from the bottom four of this league into the top eight. This weeks win came against the Browns whose season is starting to slip away fast. With so many good teams in this grade there is simply no room for error and some coaches in the middle of the ladder may just be consulting their run home to see if they can still crack it for a shot at Premier next year.

Division I Round 10

Leisa's Lovelies vs wycbloods
Supre Cil Dluohs vs PicklesPA
Captain Who? vs Blue Boy
Hondominators YSCC vs Matty's Knights
cobras vs CoverKing's Army
Mosquitoes vs LKIF
The Browns vs Dutchys Dodos
The Dark Knights vs Woodys Dropkick

The Dark Knights will be facing plenty of them over the next two weeks as they face up to the mighty Woodys Dropkick who seem destined for a spot in Hogg Premier next season. The Knights have been written off before though and have emerged victorious but it would be a major suprise to see him take out Woody who has been massive for the second straight year in the Hogg.

In form Hondo will be tested by Matty's Knights and will need to defeat them to prevent their midseason surge amounting to nought as he has a very tough run home. Hondo will need to rack up as many wins as he can before he finishes the year with matches against CoverKing, Woody and Dutchy. Wins over Mattys and LKIF will provide a nice buffer for Hondo over two top eight rivals. Mosquitoes need to keep up their high scoring ways to defeat an LKIF side that has snuck under the radar to command a top eight place. I reckon the Mozzies can win this one and leapfrog LKIF and put an end to their winning run.

I reckon the bottom four in this league are done and the loser of wycbloods and Leisa's Lovelies will be in the same boat at 4-6 and well off the pace. I reckon that bloods can defeat the Lovelies as the Lovelies haven't been scoring points as consistently and that wycbloods luck is due for a change. Like I said the bottom four are done so I'm tipping Supres, Captain Whom, CoverKing and Dutchy. If those results come in that mean that Supres will take Dark Knight's top four spot. Tough school this.

ROUND 10

Results
wycbloods 2099 Lovelies 2048
Supre Cil Dluohs 2197 Pickles 1305
Blue Boy 2116 Captain 2079
Hondominators YSCC 2431 Matty's 1745
CoverKing's Army 1700 cobras 1525
Mosquitoes 2198 LKIF 1873
Dutchys Dodos 2100 Browns 1755
Woodys Dropkick 2093 Dark K 2043

Captain Whom is in shock after reeling from an upset loss courtesy of former Premier League team Blue Boy who showed that they can provide some nuisance value in the run in to the finals and maybe extricate himself from the relegation zone while he's at it. CoverKing has more ar5e than a bus full of shirtlifters after winning a match with a measly 1700 and it hardly seems fair that second spot is the reward for such a scummy score.

Hondo's recovery continued full steam ahead and I'm calling it now, he's for the top eight this season judging by his recent run of scoring. He might be someone worth avoiding this August too if you have designs on a Grand Final berth. wycbloods returned to the winners list but it is not too late despite what he writes above. The Mozzies showed they don't suck after they smased LKIF and Woody has racked up yet another win with SCD boogeying on in to the top four as was predicted earlier.

Gilbee has the higher scorer ceiling of the two

St Kilda have a good run home though

Either would be a good option

What you reckon on Enright v Malceski?

Yeah iv still got 8 or so trades left, got Brown on the bench and some people to trade to get the $ up. Just need some luck in that iv got my zeros out the way. Murphy, Chapman, Kelly, Kennelly should all play this week i think!

Division I Round 11

Leisa's Lovelies vs PicklesPA
Supre Cil Dluohs vs wycbloods
Captain Who? vs Matty's Knights
Hondominators YSCC vs Blue Boy
cobras vs LKIF
Mosquitoes vs CoverKing's Army
The Browns vs Woodys Dropkick
The Dark Knights vs Dutchys Dodos

12 minutes to lockout.....WTF!! 5HIT!!

CoverKing better start looking over his shoulder as here come the challengers. Mosquitoes have been scoring very well this year so the King will need to extract the digit or find himself tumbling out of the top four and on his regal ar5e. I'm tipping the Mozzies King is gone.

His bro wycbloods also has a tough match against an SCD side who has somehow managed to fly under the radar (you'd think the Mozzies would do that!) in this very tough league. I reckon SCD can put the breakes on the bloods and set him back on his heels for another week.

The other big match is between the Dodos and Dark Knights who have so much to play for this week. If the Mozzies and wycbloods can win the winner of this match will be on the Champers while the loser might very well be contemplating another year in Hogg Division I. It's hard to get a read on the Knights and seeing that lockout is only 8 minutes away I'm taking the easy option and tipping Dutchy!

In the other games it is dial a massacre with the Lovelies, The Captain, Woody as usual, Hondo and LKIF to all salute fairly easily. That set of results would probably spell curtains for Matty's Knights and it would be certainly curtains for the Browns who haven't really lived up to the King's recommendation this season.
