Judd remains good value in SuperCoach but isn't as great as a Dream Team option. A solid, if safe bet is Judd in SuperCoach and Kane Cornes in Dream Team. Judd will get off to a flyer as he normally cleans up the Tiggers and is a sound Round 1 captaincy choice. Beware of Bluebaggers though as they won't be available for the Prelim Final due Carlton having the bye that week. Strong bench cover is required if you get on Judd because he is a keeper.

Say.....do you want to join our league. ;)

What teams have the byes in the final weeks REB? Is it the same finals set up this year (ie rounds 18-22)?

If can stay on the field he'll be worth it. He'll make money for you as he is priced at what, 220 or something? Josh Fraser at a similar price is probably the better option.

i reckon there's too many question marks on him - playing FF, returning from injury

He reminds me of Hunt last year. Hunt was cheap but never really did enough to be a keeper and his price never got to keeper level. He stayed in my team as a question mark until I traded him towards the end. I could never work out if he was worth upgrading or not and all the time he averaged about 75. Not qute good enough. I'd like to be sure Petrie could average 80+ and I am just not convinced he will.

Chalk and cheese. Petrie has previously averaged these sort of numbers (and more) but Hunt never averaged 80 which is why I didn't bother with him. Petrie, like Hunt just aren't keepers. A trade up to Jolly after the Pies' second bye is probably the way to go.

Yes, true. I am thinking of just jumping onto Jolly or someone similar straight off and avoiding Petrie altogether.

The prices are interesting.

BAD - Some of the expected discounts on players like Foley and Petterd are lower than expected
GOOD - Daniel Harris is only $125K for those that are interested
GOOD - the magic number used to calculate the normal prices is lower than expected so it seems easier to afford the better players
BAD - to compensate for overall drop in prices the baseline rookie prices are up on last year. It's now $103K to buy a standard rookie compared to $94K

Anyway, good luck with the team building everyone! I have a draft 1 team up already.

On your point of rookies Hondo I saw Chris Schmidt was over 300K I think. Seems outrageous for a rookie regardless of what he done last season.

Yeah, once they play over a certain number of games in the previous year their price becomes: LY average score x magic number (around $5000).

It makes second year players very awkwardly priced. eg, Schmidt.

Compare Schmidt then to Brodie Smith at $123K who only played 1 or 2 games
