i better get through the finals. i didnt look at my supercoach for 4 weeks. i still have 4 or 6 trades left. i could still be making some trades come finals, IF IM THERE.

Im spewin i got rid of johnson as he is playing this week for the catters, and i have 3 zeros, so this week il definitely get 1 zero. it could cost me! and stevey j has a great record against the crows so im spewin!

Hopefully Jolly can dominate again for m, scoring 160 odd in his first week. good pick up he was!

Just got over the line against Smac even though he had 15 players score and no captain thank god for that. Hopefully i can string a few wins together and sneak into the finals.

Bahaha. I haven't logged in since I 'auto selected' my side. Can I sell my trades to anyone else, I assume I still have 20 of them...

Just looked at the sides.
I think i could still win and get demoted with how the games have panned out.

Leisa has Bartel, Judd, Gibbs and Hasleby

I have. Ablett, Corey, J and A Selwood.

It will come down to who wins the midfield i think.

Go the catters!!

Either that or start using them to see if you can figure out how to play this game. There is a 'bottom eight' finals series as well as a top eight. Just in case you want to play next year.

Team for Round 18:

B: Newman, Broughton, Gilbee
HB: Hurn, Mackie, Hodge
C: Bartel, Selwood, K Cornes
HF: Riewoldt, Pavlich, J Brown
F: Rioli, Franklin, Didak
R: McIntosh, Judd, Goodes
I/C: S Hill, Rich, Kruezer, S Johnson

EMG: L Anthony, T Cloke

Bit the bullet and traded out Cox for Kruezer. Went for the extra cash from getting Kruezer over Cox and am just hoping for some steady but not mindblowing scores from the young lad. Got enough cash now to make some upgrades during finals.

Thanks Hondo, yours ain't so bad either.

I've got the Mackie blues again, it's not helping him that Scarlo and Taylor are out, but f***...

Also spewing that I picked Steve Johnson to start over Travis Cloke ](*,)

24 for Jolly! He's had a great year the big fella but it just goes to show how much we have relied on Cox and his consistent point scoring in the ruck over the years. This week McIntosh my other ruck got 122 but last week he got bugger all and Jolly racked up the points. The golden pairing for 2010 will be Sandilands and Cox but a better strategy is always looking for a cheaper second ruck who is going to go on and have a good year.

Simmonds was that pick last year and this year McIntosh is the guy who has done it even better. If you have Clark you are also looking pretty handy.

btw Q Man, you will have to not only get by Darcy but also LKIF to join us in Premier League next season so the heat is on!

Jolly also has a hamstring issue. Could be a massive blow for some teams if he misses this week.

Top four of Div 1 will be tough, could score 2200-2300 and still lose. Could come down to a bit of luck with injuries and who has trades up their sleeve. I did notice Darcy and LKIF have still got Cox and Higgins in their sides, I reckon they may only have 1-2 trades left.

Well i am happy with my convincing win over Leisa's lovelies by 408 points. This win secured my spot in the top 8, finishing 7th. Now i get to play Leisa's Lovelies again this week in a rematch.

I will be going in as a big favourite, but if my combination of Ablett, J and A selwood and corey loses to Judd Gibbs bartel and hasleby i could be in big trouble. I would be interested to know if Leisa's Lovelies have any trades left, because i have a couple up my sleeve, with Jolly in doubt, i may have to get rid of him after one/two weeks in my side. Young Jack Grimes has been the pick up of the year in my side. This kid racks up the effective touches.

Happy to sneak into the finals this year and will look to be much better next year, now that i understand this game a little more. Like don't burn all your trades early   .

Hogg Premier League Finals

Qualifying Finals - winner the week off, losers to play winners of Elimination Finals.

REBCats vs. the chardonnays
GordonBlues vs. Black Magic SCE

Elimination Finals - winners to play losers of Qualifying Finals. Losers out.

Poon Army vs. Mr Football
Buddy and the Boys vs. FOOTYLEDGENS

Relegation Matches - Losers relegated to Hogg Division I

It Hurts so Bad vs. Testaccio SPQR
wonder elephants vs. Juddernaut

Good old Poon did me a massive favour by taking out GordonBlues this weekend as I have no wish to meet up with the frankly scary Black Magic until Grand Final day. I'm hoping to turn up the ol Jag-o-meter a bit higher and see if Gordy can do my dirty work for me! Black Magic has qualified for his second straight finals series after making the top four last year and bombing out. I reckon he's here for the journey this year though. Well done to GordonBlues who was a bit unlucky missing out on the minor premiership after suffering a costly loss to Hurts so Bad during the year. the chardonnays have also done well who like GordonBlues were elevated from Hogg Division I last season.

In the knockout games Poon Army looks the pick of these sides and Troy looks poised to end the premiership defence of Mr Football who has been a bit off his game in 2009. Troy has now qualified for his third straight finals series, the other two teams to have managed this is yours truly and the cub who takes on Sargent Parko (he's actually related to David Parkin as well) who's Buddy and the Boys have finally cracked it for a finals berth after three years of trying. Nice work by the cub who started the season off at 0-3 but obviously he needs to keep winning or it's night night.

In the relegation matches It Hurts so Bad looks a good bet to continue in Premier League even though Testaccio SPQR has gradually improved over the second half of the season. Blue Boy got off to an absolute shocker at the start of the season but has provided plenty of nusciance value over the last few weeks of the season. wonder elephants were planning a premiership assault this time last year but this season they wll be fighting it out with the Juddernaut to see who remains in Hogg Premier. I reckon that Juddernaut might survive and that the elephants will be grazing in easier company next season.

Hogg Division I Finals

Qualifying Finals - winner the week off, losers to play winners of Elimination Finals.

darcy DTF vs. Squeakeroos_DTF
LKIF vs. Q Before You

Elimination Finals - winners to play losers of Qualifying Finals. Losers out.

Supre Cil Dluohs vs. WYCBLOODS
Leisa's Lovelies vs. CoverKing

Relegation Matches - Winners relegated to Hogg Division II, Losers relegated to Hogg Division III

MightyCrows vs. smac
Maria Sharapova vs. Punk Roosters

The top four have been able to coast through the year in Hogg Division I but life as they know it has now ended. For the rest of this season and next year in the Hogg there won't be any smacs or Punk Roosters to beat up on. Darcy DTF has been the top dog pretty much all year but a check on the purple table above shows that he has dropped from 1st midseason to 6th in total points scored. One of the teams that has gone past Darc are the Squeakeroos and they could put Darcy in an awkward knock out final next week. The Q Man has been this sites most impressive Div I coach and even though LKIF is no walkover, he appears to have the easiest Qualifying Final match up. A win in these games for these coaches will plant one foot in Hogg Premier League. GAME ON.

In the knockout finals the Blood brothers WYCBLOODS and CoverKing might both advance to the semis after showing some good recent form. Supre Cil Dlouhs accounted for Bloods earlier in the year but since then they have racked up about six wins in a row. Leisa opened up a donut shop last week against CoverKing so this week's rematch should be a closer match.

That's right they are all going down. The performance of Hogg Division I has been very poor this season to say the least and the whole point of a divisional system is to be ale to play against coaches of the same ability as you. The bottom four have been pretty ordinary and Hogg Division I is a league in which coaches are auditioning for Premier League in the next season. This means that the (eligble) Grand Finalists in Division II and Division III will both be playing in Hogg Division I next year. Just in case the bottom four still give a shit, they can still use a couple of trades to avoid being relegated to Divsion III.

Hogg Division II Finals

Qualifying Finals - winner the week off, losers to play winners of Elimination Finals.

REBCats vs. FOOTYLEDGENS
Hondos Hard Nuts vs. Leisa's Lovelies

Elimination Finals - winners to play losers of Qualifying Finals. Losers out.

holland's heros vs. FNQ Trotters
cobra's vs. The Underdogs

Congratulations to Hondo who despite being a self confessed SuperCoach novice, has outscored every other coach in the Hogg Shield this season. Hondo has to do the business now and defeat all of the 'REBites' in the finals so he can advance to Hogg Division I next season. Once again I have dodged the best team in the comp in week one in the finals and it will be Mrs REB with her donut shop who will have to face the mighty Hard Nuts first. Cub is playing off in an elimination final in Premier League this week so I won't be getting an easy match first up. At this stage the favourites for promotion would be Hondo and Carey who was in Div I last year but was a bit late getting to the starting gate this year.

The reward for a magnificent comeback for the FNQ Trotters is to take on holland's heros who bounced back to form last week against a weakened Leisa's Lovelies. A special mention must be made here to Jacks Stars who somehow missed out on the finals after being two games clear with two to play and Brod's The Willies who stormed home only to do a Richmond and finish 9th. I reckon holland's will advance and that the cobra's will fall over the line against The Underdogs. Both sides appear to be on their last legs so I don't see either of them making the Grand Final.

There are no relegation matches in this league as this is the 'family' league and you can't get relegated from it. Four places will open up though for the bottom two and the those who get promoted to Hogg Division I.

regards,

REB
