Staker - i hope for his sake he has a good year.
Ball - will average 90+ with ease this year
Hodge
Fyfe
Krakeour - no go. will average around 60-70. below BE.
Varcoe
Embley
And smart rookie selections.

I wouldn't bet on ball averaging 90 'with ease'. The emergence of Beams might curtail Ball's scoring. If you have Ball you also have to watch out if you are considering Swan, Pendlebury or Beams in your side. Check out the way the byes are aligning with the premium mids selection...a cruel joke by the AFL. Thought about Ball but went with rookies instead. So many this year I'm not sure the Ballman is worth the extra coin.

Staker is bound to make cash and get games and because of his dual position rating most sides will have him.

You've got a few too many old guys in that lot.

With the change to the rules for the bye rounds i can't see how we need to have dual position coverage except for injury which doesnt apply to dream team anyway.
So i think i will go for the best option rather than worry if he has dual position

happy to be talked out of some picks... still have $375k in the bank...

Morris - won't score enough.
Rohan - promising but risky. A bit of an unknown quantity and would be a great POD pickup if he can kick on
Bock - Looking at him also but he's limping quite badly at the moment. Hasn't had the pre-season which isn't great. Maybe pick him up later in the year. His early scores might be down for a bit.
Varcoe - Never been a good SC scorer so not much value as a cash cow. Get a rookie instead and bank the difference. Cats early draw horrendous.Byrnes - Lock him in. From what I've read this pre-season his role will be accross half forward delivering the ball to gorillas Dawes and Clark. Was in solid form in the premiership winning side in the Magoos and will get a shitload of outside ball. Much better option than Varcs.

Watch out though dude, I was well down the Hogg rankings last year. ;)

Someone (maybe Billy Brownless) said in the radio that T.Varcoe is flying on the track and will get more time in the middle. Also a DPP.
Well worth considering.

Everyone is 'flying on the track' at this time of year and Billy Brownless is even more one eyed about the Cats than I am. Varcs hasn't got the tank to generate the kind of numbers that his owners are hoping for and I'm staying away.

I suppose on Varcoe, if you only have coin for a cheap forward, he's going to play every week and get you 60-80 points.
Not going to get much more dollars on top of him, but he'll play.

A lot more better cash cow options though.

Yarran is like Shaun Higgins sucking people in every year :)

Reports are he is going to play more of a midfield role plus what will Mick do with him - will be take on the old (fantasy lucrative) "quarterback" role filled by Davis at the Pies?

I probably wouldnt choose Boak. Not sure what strategy your going for as far as your midfield though.

Ive only chosen power rookies this season, with Pittard as an LTI selection.

Valleys, I'm not picking Boak myself.

I'm just trying keep the discussion rolling with some possible bargains.

I have had Yarran in my team at some stages so far, but he's currently out.

Yarran is too easy to shut down in the quarter back role as happened at times last year. Whilst you get some good scores, to unpredictable.

Nick Lower. Could score enough to get to 500K, then only small cost to upgrade to premium?
