Viney's 9 is going to be the death of me.

Still a very unlikely chance but with 9 for viney and Walker subbed off late not much has gone right for me today.

Need Rockliff and Leunberger to score less than 163.

The Premier League coaches struggled a bit for points this week with no really big scores registred as plenty of big names underperformed. Dutchy made the most of it by continuing Q Man's early season woes with a solid win which saw them leap into the top eight. The Poon Army is the toast of the league after sinking a struggling Ginger Ninjas outfit and heading the comp after two rounds. Hawkeye won the battle of the Hawks in a tight contest with wycbloods a bit unlucky to miss out on the points.

The Captain had a much closer game squeaking by the Squeakeroos and Richo Richo led nearly all weekend against the REBCats whoa are going about as well as the West Coast Eagles at the moment. The Darkside is under more pressure than ever before this season as he was bitten by the Underdogs who happily banked his second straight win. Alaska's Longwood Lions got back into the comp after dethroning the former top side Cork in the Ocean and the Texas Danger and MILLERS recorded strong wins as expected.

Already the heat is on for the bottom six especially for Q, Gingernuts and myself as we all struggle to find a winning combination. It will only take a few more losses for us to be out of the comp already. Gutted! :(

Spuds had Hanley and so I ended up with an easier win than I expected after Dangerfield's 120 and Jones' 83 exceeded the SC Gold predicted scores. Thank god we both had Jack Viney on field.

Round 3 Previews

Captain Who vs. Texas Danger SSC - Match of the Round

The only match between two unbeaten sides is the Hogg Premier Match of the Round. The reigning premier is off to a much better start to this year's campaign so anyone hoping to snaffle a win off Groover had better get in quick smart as he normally gets better later in the season. Hondo's Texans look a side that is capable of stopping the Captain's current winning streak which, if I'm not mistaken goes all the way back to when the Cat Empire beat them during the bye period last season. With that sort of form behind him it's hard to tip against Captain Who. Captain Who to win this but only just.

Poon Army vs. chardy socialists

Hammo's Poon Army is on top of the ladder after racking up a handy win against the Ginger Ninjas last week. The chardies for their part are a much improved combination that just keeps falling short of victory. Unfortunately for finn, I expect this trend to continue for another week. The Poon Army have that killer instinct at the moment and I'm tipping the Army to remain undefeated and to continue finny's early season woes.

The Ginger Ninjas vs. Longwood Lions

Alaska's Lions finally bared their claws last week and have the opportunity to pounce on the lame Zebra that is The Ginger Ninjas this week. The Ninjas' form is back to the bad old days when they were regularly in the bottom quarter of the Premier League after a brief flirtation with success in the last couple of seasons. A quick look at the Ninjas' line up reveals that some urgent surgery is needed and if he isn't burning trades now, he should be. The Longwood Lions will be all over the Ginger Ninjas here and win their second match for the season.

MILLER MOSQUITOES vs. Darksiders SCE

The Darkside hasn't been in this much trouble since Darth Vader threw the Emperor down the hole. Unfortunately for Reignman, that is where his form currently is and a meeting with the MOSQUITOES does't appear to be the tonic that the Darkside is looking for. If he got to play me or Gingernuts he'd be on his way but the Mozzies represent a greater challenge than us stragglers. I'm selecting a MILLER MOSQUITOES win in this match to send the Dark Side off to an unprecendented 0-3 start.

Cork in the Ocean vs. Buddyroughhawks

Corky's time at the top only lasted the one week after they were defeated by the dual Hogg Premership winning Longwood Lions. The Roughies were a bit unlucky to lose to form team Hawkeye in a bit of nailbiter last week and I'm thinking they look the most likely team to turn it around and bounce back with a win. When the Hawks are up and about I like Buddyroughhawks and Hawkeye and I reckon the Roughies can win this one.

Underdogs vs. REBCats

The Underdogs have been winning matches as usual but the same can't be said for my REBCats who spudded it up badly last week with some Z Grade coaching moves from yours truly. Perhaps there is a gig waiting for me at Melbourne. In recent seasons I haven't done all that well against Gibbo but last year I managed to turn that around a bit. I can smell an upset here and this week the REBCats will get the job done...sheesh, I hope!

Hawkeye vs. Dutchys Dodos

In one of the better match ups of the round the red hot Hawkeye and the resilient Dutchys Dodos play off to remain in the top eight. Dutchy sprung a bit of a surprise on a struggling Q Man last week with a high scoring victory and Hawkeye beat up on his fellow Hawk in a high quality encounter. Both teams will score well again this week but Dutchy will have a tougher match ahead of him this week and it is a match I expect Hawkeye to win but there won't be much in this one. Dutchy is probably already banking the win as I tip against him again.

Richo Richo Man vs. Squeakeroos DTC

Squeaky scored very well in the preseason competition and Richo didn't. However, Richo Richo Man is unbeaten and Squeaky has yet to open his account. Richo has taken advantage of REBCats and Darksiders poor early form while Squeaky has been bested by two inform sides so far this season. I reckon Squeaky has faced the quality and can surprise CoverKing this week who can't expect shite scores like 1963 to be scored against him every week (hey can I help it if Richo Richo Man has an excellent defence?). Squeakeroos DTC will win this match and open their account for the season.

Spuds vs. Q Before You

The Q Man sank to the foot of the table following an inglorious loss to Dutchy's Dodos last week and things won't get any easier for the Q Man against the Spuds this round. Spuds cleaned up Squeaky in round one but fell short of Hondo's Texas Walker SSC in the second but outscored Q Man in both round. I expect that scoring trend to continue as Q Man continues with his early season head scratching. I'm tipping the Spuds to win this one but surely Q Man can win at least one league match this round? Maybe, but it won't be in Hogg Premier.

Only four winners last week. So, just like my SuperCoach scoring, I'm getting worse. You just can't beat cosistency. Judging by the last two weeks I'm going to score 1850 and get three winners. I just hope I can hack it in Divvy I next year. 8)

Hooray! On the board. No room in the top eight for Spuds, Darksiders, MILLERS and Squeaky = a bloody tough league. Essendon supporting Poon Army clearly need to be investigated for their unusually consistent level of scoring!
